"Eddie?" The blond mumbles, staring at the ground. Beside him, his best friend makes a questioning hum. Buck doesn't meet his eyes, feeling his heart begin to pound again.
When he doesn't say anything else, Eddie knocks his shoulder against Buck's. "What's up?" He prompts, unaware.
Buck swallows, and then finally says, "I tried to kill myself last night."

Hey, reader, just before you go any further I want to give you a quick warning.

The different channels spotlit them with the red and yellow of breaking news and blue and green of the nature channels, occasionally rainbow, coming from whatever children’s show was still on at 11pm.
Tom laughed soft.
“You are just going in circles at this point. I now know the plot of”- he squints -”Pocoyó?”
AJ doesn’t look up at him, staring at the TV still, but Tom can see him smile. The younger man switches a few channels going over the natural disaster report and the black and white rerun. He groans.
AJ turns off the TV, leaving them in the dark. He is now laying on Tom’s chest, the tall one’s arms hugging him. He hides his face.
“We can go to sleep if you want to” Tom murmurs.
AJ listens to Tom’s heartbeat, one he could never handle stopping. He doesn’t want to sleep yet; he never does at 11 (maybe that’s a problem, but he definitely can’t handle that now).by jácint

Sam's first year of uni was pretty tame, all things considered. He’d changed his major three times in one week but settled on classics after talking with Luke, half-drunk. He made friends in the drama club he’d signed up for and went out with them every few weeks for a drink. He passed his classes just barely and half-dead.
Second year was worse. More assignments swamping all his free time, losing touch with his family after showing no signs of changing his major, flubbing several of his drama exercises, a hundred little things that piled up to drown him. At some point, drinking had become less of a get-together to have fun and more of a life-saving shield against the pressure of everything.
It was the only thing that shut his thoughts up.
