His luck had taken Nagito to strange places, stranger people even. He had long since given up trying to find reason behind some of the inexplicable things that had happened to him.
Yet, he really didn’t understand how he had ended up here, in his room looking straight up at the body that had appeared above him in seemingly thin air. The dip and creak of the mattress having woken Nagito up, the scent of gasoline and chaos strong on the other male making him jolt in alertness.

Really, it would just be so much easier to ignore the others’ remarks. To walk away when Nagito was trying to get a rise out of him, he’d done so with others before. He’s avoided conflict numerous times, knew when to not take the obvious bait.
But something was different with the lucky student. He couldn’t place his finger on it, but the idea of not entertaining their little feud seemed—impossible.
There was something about Nagito that demanded his attention, for better or for worse.
Mostly the latter.

Komaeda seems too surprised by the question to really take notice of the sudden and immediate cringe that snaps down Hinata’s spine at his own terrible choice of a conversation lead in.
He sets his teacup down. “What *should* I be doing about it, Hinata-kun?”
(or: hinata has a gift for komaeda. he's just unsure if it's the right one. or if komaeda wants it. actually maybe he should just throw it away.)

Summary
There was a sharp silence that pronounced the sound of tearing velcro and the echoing click of the weapon that he used to rid the streets of despair. He pressed the metal to the man’s lips, the taste of dirt and gunpowder and something no longer alive coating the tip of his tongue. It was dizzying. Something Komaeda used to take out those who brought hopelessness, the barrel was now pointed at the complete opposite.
But the way Hinata’s eyes widened with a dark glint behind those pupils, he didn’t think the same. He was thrilled.

Hinata is bored and Komaeda takes initiative to ensure it doesn't stay that way.
