Kai shuffles in place, his stocking-covered knees rubbing gently against the rug as he tries to get closer to Taehyun, until he’s practically seated on Taehyun’s feet, thighs bracketing his legs in.

Soobin smiled as she carded her fingers through Kai's hair. Kai was lying with her head on Soobin's lap, lazy eyes fluttering shut. The gesture was calming, relaxing, almost hypnotic in a way. The rest of the world was long forgotten. Kai could stay here forever.
Soobin's deep voice broke through the silence, "What did you dream about, Kai-yah?"
The words escaped her before she could even register them. "I dreamt that you loved me."
Soobin's eyes widened in surprise. A few seconds passed by before they settled back into crescents. Failing at hiding her giggles, she moved her hands to thumb at Kai's cheeks, the cold touch somehow gentle and warm. "But I already do love you," Soobin whispered easily, like it was the truth. "So much."
Kai blinked her eyes open and stared into Soobin's. She should've stopped Soobin there. She should’ve told Soobin that she had the wrong idea, that Kai worded it wrong. She should've gotten up and cried out, "No, unnie, I dreamt that you were in love with me. That you loved me back."
