Green eyes met terrifying red ones. The rest of the persons face was covered by a beautifully crafted green mask. One side was splashed in red.
A large, slender hand wrapped itself around his upper arm and pulled gently.
"Come on, little one. Hide and seek is over." The voice had a reassuring tone to it, but there was also a note of authority. Harry shook his head frantically and another tear rolled down his cheek.Harry's life is turned upside down after he is the only survivor of a terrorist attack. Luckily for him, at the same time a dangerous individual happens to take an interest in him and fate ensures that there are plenty of encounters between them.
Except that Harry has no luck and fate has nothing to do with it.

Tom leaned in further so that his lips touched Harry's ear. His raspy voice and its merciless tone made Harry's veins freeze. "What if I had shown them their rightful place? – Crawling at my feet. What if I'd shown them what happens when they touch something that's mine?"
The hand on Harry's neck squeezed lightly. Not hard, it didn't hinder Harry's breathing yet. Just a warning. Tom let his nose brush against Harry's cheek. Harry shivered slightly. He cleared his throat and whispered, "You don't own me, though."
A soft laugh rang out against Harry's cheek and Tom nuzzled his face further against Harry's. "Don't I?"Harry gets to know Tom better after the incident in front of the potions classroom.

Summary
One of the first things Lord Voldemort notices after resurrection: Potter goes into a weird headspace when Voldemort touches him. He can't kill the boy while he doesn't fight back, Potter's delicious resistance something he wants to experience one more time, so he has to let him go.
Between Harry grabbing the cup and his feet touching the ground at the front of the maze, Cedric Diggory disappeared. Harry is mostly annoyed when the Headmaster doesn't leave him alone until he is sent back to his relatives. Between the empty night sky and his chores, his memory starts to return, with the feelings of sweet oblivion and surprising safety. When he finally remembers the monster behind them, he is already seeking those feelings from others. But no one is quite as well as the monster.
With the promises from the snake, he succumbs to his hunger, dooming the future of the wizarding world. (At least, as long as the Dark Lord does not get the real prophecy.)

The night after his thirteenth birthday, Harry Potter witnessed something that would effect him in ways he couldn't imagine. If Professor Riddle discovered that Harry had been there that night, then he knew his and his loved ones lives would be endangered.
Fearing for himself and knowing that he must keep what he'd seen a secret, he becomes determined to master occlumency. Not only would this ensure that the secret stayed hidden, it would also hide his own shameful reaction to the scene.
Now, four years later, he only had a few months left of school. Once he graduates, the risk of the memory being discovered would be minimal. He only hoped that he could continue to avoid Professor Riddle's attention until then.
