She swallowed hard, then reached into her bag and pulled out a horror of a textbook. The entire mold-stained cover slid off as she moved to set it on his desk, and a handful of ragged pages scattered as the book block landed on his desk with a damp thud.

However, a month into their holiday, before the apocalypse started, the tire blew on the RV. Fate seemed to hate her. As she was cursing up a storm at Fate and the tire a truck pulled up beside her with two men, hunters or rednecks as some would call them. The strange thing was one of them made her magic sing in a way no one else ever had or even could. What happens when they travel with these men to the quarry, will the group listen and accept her or will they just be another lot in a long line of superficial people.
