Neil watched the door as more people filed in, checking their names at the door. His gaze caught on one particular guest Neil didn't recognize. In the bright lights of the hall, the man's golden strands shimmered like beach sand during a sunrise. He looked remarkably pale, but Neil couldn't tell if it was the lighting or his all black ensemble. Neil had written the guest list. He knew everyone in attendance, but he still could not place this man. He also could not drag his eyes away from him as if he was a child staring stupidly at the sun.

Summary
Neil's been on his feet for the last thirty-six hours. His leg is aching, his interns are all idiots, his charge nurse thinks he should've gone home hours ago, but Neil can't bring himself to leave the knowing chaos of the ER.
He tells himself he'll see one more patient. One more, then he'll clock out.
Except, Neil's last patient of the day turns out to be a professional exy player, who's just punched another doctor, might be hiding some knives, and seems determined to notice everything Neil is trying to hide.
And, well - maybe Neil doesn't want to hide from one Andrew Minyard.
OR
Neil is an emergency physician and Andrew is a pro exy player who keeps finding himself in Neil's ER. Oblivious flirting ensues.

Summary
Andrew just wanted some ice-cream, instead he gets a beautiful, feral, dumpster fire of a man. And pot plants. And some cats.
It's just a soft, cosy little story where two lonely boys meet and snark and poke each other's sore bits until they can't live without each other. Tiny bit of angst - no on page violence. I'll update tags if anything changes.
Very loosely inspired by the blurb or a book, which I didn't buy and I can't remember the name of ... sorry!
Will likely be around 6 chapters. The story starts in September and will have a festive conclusion, because it's already dark and cold and I need me some cosy soft boys to cheer me up. It's a little sweet treat to go with my pumpkin spice.

Alex (or Abram—the secret name the boy whispered to Andrew one night) is the new kid at Andrew's school, and Andrew is partnered with him for an English project about The Outsiders: Andrew and Abram have to come up with a runaway plan that would work out better than Johnny and Pony's. They think the project is utterly pointless at first, but it turns out to be a lot more useful than they ever would have expected when, less than two months later, Andrew and Abram find themselves with blood on their hands.

Summary
Henry is a struggling writer living in Brooklyn and has just sold his first book. After years of hard work, everything is finally coming together. Everything except the family he’s always wanted. He decides it’s time to stop waiting around for the right person and goes to a fertility center to have a baby on his own.
Alex is a successful lawyer living in Manhattan who has barely slowed down long enough to take a deep breath since finishing law school, not even when he was diagnosed with cancer last year. He’s relieved to finally put it behind him and be cancer free, but that requires one more surgery that will leave him unable to have children. He decides to freeze a sample at a fertility center for the day he meets his special someone in the future.
A small mix up with huge consequences happens at the clinic, resulting in Henry being implanted with Alex’s sample. These two strangers are suddenly forced into getting a lot closer while they figure out how to navigate this bizarre situation, and maybe find the person they’ve both been waiting for in the process.
