It's impulsive and irrational because she's just some homeless girl playing a song on a beat up guitar. To be quite honest, you aren't really sure if it's a happy or a sad one. You aren't looking for love but she steps into your home and everything suddenly makes sense. You lose sleep over her, but for once in your life, you don't mind insomnia. You want her to be happy more than you want her to love you.
Sometimes she needs you. Sometimes you need her. But you both fall in love and that just means that you both kind of need each other.

“Um, I don’t think that’s any of your business. Are you going to ring up my order or not, because I have studying to do and I can just as easily go up the road to Alchemy Clubs and Subs.” She couldn’t, not if she wanted any actual studying to get done, but the snarky barista definitely didn’t need to know that.
Carmilla sighed and put her phone down, looking at Laura for the first time. She paused, her eyes widening, before straightening up fully and giving Laura a once over. She smirked. “Alright, cutie. I’ll get you your creampuffs.”
Laura is a struggling college freshman who just needs a place to study. When she finds the coffee shop Belmonde with the perfect atmosphere and delectable creampuffs, it feels like the perfect fit, aside from the snarky barista who won't stop teasing her about how much sugar she eats. At least she doesn't have to spend that much time with Carmilla - at least until a bad storm strands the two of them alone in the coffee shop all night.
