"Don't you get the feeling that this is some sort of trap?" I didn't want to upset Donut, but her nonchalance about the whole situation was grating.
"No, Carl, I don't think it's some sort of trap. The AI said it himself, we've earned this. Unlike you, I have a sense of self-worth and can accept gracious gifts when I know I deserve them." She headbutted my leg and nuzzled her face against me. "However, also unlike you I've never had a romantic partner fool around behind my back, so I suppose I can see why you have such an issue trusting others."

Summary
The dungeon's over, and the AI assumes his help rebuilding Earth will bring him and Carl closer. But, to his dismay, Carl still blames him for all the suffering the dungeon caused. It doesn't matter what the AI does, he can't seem to get Carl to see him as anything other than an enemy.
In desperation he hatches a plan, something he thinks Carl won't be able to ignore. However, like everything else he's tried, it spectacularly backfires. Instead of Carl learning more about who the AI is, the AI learns more about what it means to be human than he ever wanted to know.- Language:

Carl loves his new job as a forest ranger. Solitude, peace, quiet, a chance to walk barefoot on the moss, and an old log cabin to live in with Donut. Even though he's broke as shit and all the other rangers say his new post is haunted, he's content. He doesn't believe any of the old superstitions about stick people or ancient entities or bigfoot living in the woods.
He probably shouldn't have walked barefoot, though. Now the legends believe in him.

In this new place away from her friends and her unhealthy routines Marinette is forced to confront herself and change for the better. Helping her on her journey is a surprising new friend and potential ally. When Alya missing her friend learns about the chance to win a free trip to Gotham she convinces the class to work hard to qualify. When her new life clashes with her old one will Marinette be able to hold on strong to her new confidence or will she crumble under the pressure?
( This fic will be for the most part comedic, fluffy, and sweet, with only a bit of seriousness to tie it together. With only the mildest salt because I don't think the class or Adrien are bad people just that they can be naive and selfish thanks to the canon writing. I hope you enjoy reading this work and have fun with me on this journey. )

Despite this and the violent nightmares of a sun god that plague you, you keep letting your brother bring you back. You keep coming back.
A sort of mean-spirited take on the Sun/Reader dynamic. Reader is often injured, intentionally or not.

The job is unpredictable, but it pays good and it's relatively easy.
Except for the part where all the animatronics are more sentient than you thought, and you're roped into a mystery surrounding the Daycare Attendants, who are bit too curious about you for your liking.
