Summary
Three years ago, beloved doctor, writer, and friend John Watson plummeted to his death after an encounter with James Moriarty. After an arduous battle with a gunshot wound and enteric fever, Captain John Watson is finally returning to London. In retrospect, the surgeons at the base hospital should have kept him a few more weeks, because it's a rather weak Watson that staggers off the ship. He expects no one to greet his arrival - after all, he left England with no close connections to friends or family. Summary
Arthur, a begrudging citizen of Carcosa under The Yellow King, is unexpectedly saved by a mysterious wizard. When he refuses to offer up information to his king to help find the wanted stranger, he is cursed with blindness for his disobedience. He intends to find a magic user to help him, but ends up entangled with an unexpected group: the most-wanted wizard in the city, John Doe; his young witch apprentice, Emily; and their nameless submarine, claiming to be a former star bound to their world.
In his time there, he becomes attached to the group, finding a better home under the ocean than what waits for him when he returns to Carcosa. His focus on regaining his sight is lost as he realizes the danger posed to the group by The King and the reality of his new companions' pasts.
