He had only been back for two weeks, and he made it a point to lay low, never talking about why it took him so long to come back, why he looked so tired. He ignored every curious glance, every well-meant question.
How was he supposed to explain to people what he saw both on Titan and in the ruins of the compound when he wasn’t even sure he had totally processed it yet? How could he look his classmates in the eye and tell them that, no, he really didn’t understand why they were freaking out about the upcoming English exam because he still woke up in cold sweats, gasping for air because the feeling of his very cells being torn apart over and over again as they frantically tried to repair themselves plagued his nightmares every night?
How could he tell them that he’s had to bury every father-figure he’s had since birth?
He couldn’t.
OR
Peter isn't doing to well in his transition back to society, and Flash was never one to make his life easy.
