Screams began filling his ears, golden blood running freely between his fingers, his gaze now locked to the ground as he could feel tears streaking his own face, an abysmal horror consuming him from his very core.
Only for a sudden sound to tear through the barrier of despair impairing him.
“But if you find yourself with no other recourse..”
No, not a sound.
“.. Then pray to that blade in the sky..”
A voice.
He was out of his bed in a matter of seconds, wobbling in a frenzy all the way to his window, feeling downright hysteric as he wrenched it open.
What greeted him was the thunderous sky in all of its glory, ironically reflecting his mental state, no stars to alight the dark night.
But even so, he felt as if he had never seen it more clearly, a silent prayer blooming unknowingly in his heart, as he could still hear the echo of the sentence that would probably haunt him for years to come.
