If he said it enough, maybe he could convince himself he was just stuck in his room or the Nursery, and just… couldn't wake up. He didn't want to be alone - stuck in this scary nightmare anymore.
He just wanted to wake up.
OR
Antonio feels new and upsetting emotions for the first time after Casita fell, and he can't really make sense of them. He has several questions, most of which surround his fears that Mirabel broke the promise she made to him - and genuinely wanted to leave him and the rest of their family.
This is a sequel to Nightmares, but you can also read this as a stand-alone fic (just with references to the original work.) POV will often switch between Antonio and Mirabel.

"It was horrible!" Antonio cried out as his arms wrapped around his small body in an attempted self-comforting hug.
"Everyone was gone. Abuela, Mami, Papí, Milo, Lola-" he shook his head a few quick times as if to free himself from the remainder of the terrible dream.
He turned to Mirabel, eyes wet but wide with fear.
"Even you weren't there!" he whispered sharply before burying himself further into Mirabel's embrace. "I was all alone."

Antonio has a particularly scary nightmare not long before his fifth birthday. Luckily, Mirabel is there to offer some comforting words and put his fears to rest.

Summary
Recent events at the circus left the cast emotionally charged, to say the least. The upheaval of your entire world can lead to some complicated feelings. But there were also some good feelings that came out of it, despite it all. One of those good feelings was nurtured by Ragatha's comforting touch. The jester found herself replaying these moments in her mind. The way her soft mitt found its way to her puffy shoulder, the way she'd gently heft her weight to lean into the shorter woman, the way she became the jester's entire world during their hug... but, as normalcy— or as close to "normal" you could get here— returned to the circus, Pomni had quietly picked up on Ragatha's gradual return to her usual orbit around the jester. Just out of reach. And that bothered her.
A reassuring pat to one of Zooble’s many arms, a hand tenderly grasping at Gangle’s ribbon, a big hug goodnight for Kinger— but Ragatha had nothing more than a smile and some finger guns for poor little Pomni. Oh, how that made her stew...

Summary
Jax is gone, but the circus keeps moving.
Adventures still happen. Breakfast is still shared. Caine still dreams up ridiculous ideas, and some afternoons are spent arguing over board games instead of running for their lives.
Pomni isn't sure she's ready for any of it.
As she learns to navigate grief alongside the people who understand it best, she begins to realize that healing isn't something anyone has to do alone. And without either of them noticing, the quiet comfort she finds in Ragatha slowly starts to become something neither of them has words for.

Gangle was nowhere near devastated after hearing what happened to Jax. She wasn't exactly relieved either. She could not cry, nor quietly celebrate her freedom. The fact that she even considered the latter made her stomach turn.It was hard to know what was right when so many words were left unsaid.
She decides there is only one way to fix that.
