Nene would pluck different flowers from her lush garden of knowledge and present them to Aoi. Never the same one twice. Aoi had always thought they were aleatory choices. The florae spoke of friendship, love, and hope. They were so much like Nene. As if she was a flower herself, brimming with bright colours, inching to grow closer and closer to the sun’s warmth. It made Aoi heart flutter in a way she didn’t understand. So, the purple haired girl chose to ignore it in favour of just relishing in Nene’s company.

And yet, Ashlyn noticed, he hadn't moved when began to crack.
Her palm was bloody, sticky and soaked with crimson from where she held his head. Her suit was black, but even then you would be able to see the glossy blood stains, right where she was cradling his head tight against her chest, desperate to keep him safe. Not like Tyler.
Cramped under the table, she buried her face into his hair, sobs stuck in her throat and tears burning her eyes, never spilling. Each hilted breath, in through her nose, smelt like his shampoo, and the metallic sting of blood. Her arms wrapped around his torso, clutching him, drawing him close.

Zoey screams deafeningly.
Mira pulls her gok-do out of Rumi’s chest with a sickening squelch, the leader collapsing to the floor as blood surrounds her.
Zoey picks up Rumi’s fading body, holding her close as tears stream down her cheeks. “Mira, what the fuck?! What did you do?” Zoey yells. Mira stares at her emotionlessly. “She’s a demon. A demon with no feelings who doesn’t deserve to live.
She walks away, leaving Zoey with Rumi who’s barely hanging onto life. “Rumi, please stay with me. I-I’ll get help, I’ll fix this p-please.” Zoey sobs. Rumi smiles despite the pain. “I love you, Zoey. Please don’t blame yourself.”
“No no no! R-Rumi don’t g-g-go! Please, just hang on f-for me!” Zoey cries. “I love you, ZoZo. I always have and always will.”
Rumi’s breathing stills, and her eyes close. “NONONONONO! RUMI NO!” Zoey wails.
Zoey screams, sitting up so violently she nearly throws herself off the bed. Tears are streaming down her cheeks as she gasps for breath.
There’s no way she’s going back to sleep tonight.or
Zoey has been plagued with nightmares since the idol awards and it gets to a point where she can barely stay awake, forcing her to tell Mira and Rumi what's been going on.

Before Spider-Girl could respond, Mira pressed the gauze against the wound. A sharp curse flew from Spider-Girl’s lips as her entire body jerked. One eye shot open while a strangled gasp escaped her. Her breathing turned uneven, and she pitched forward hard enough that Rumi had to catch her before she collapsed completely.
“Whoa, hey,” Rumi said quickly, tightening her grip around her. “Easy now.” She carefully guided Spider-Girl back against the bedframe. Then her eyes slowly opened again.
Rumi froze as hazel eyes stared back at her.
Familiar eyes.
A gasp escaped her lips before she could stop it.
