    Summary

A creative slump sends you searching for inspiration in the wilderness, but one misstep lands you under a mountain instead of on top of it. As you navigate a world filled with puzzles, quirky monsters, and an unsettling sense of déjà vu, a certain skeleton keeps popping up—startling you with his sharp wit and toothy grin. There’s something about him, though… something your heart can’t ignore, as if it was always meant to lead you here.

Despite living in Snowdin for months, Papyrus still feels like an outsider. An invisible barrier stands between him and the sense of community he craves. His brother tells him to be patient, but Papyrus would rather take matters into his own hands.
Sans tries his best to understand.

Not a really feel-good fic, but Papyrus' struggle to fit in hit kinda close to home, man.

It's a simple enough job. You find the kid, you get the caps. The job doesn't really matter at the end of the day, as long as you're the only one doing the footwork.

But Frisk just ran from one Vault only to fall into another. And this one is full of monsters.

    Summary

Kara is at the end of her nursing shift when a violent man is brought in with an arrow wound. When he spits blood on her, Kara is transported elsewhere. Soon she's doing emergency wound care on book characters and trying not to lose it. She can't watch people suffer even if it isn't real, but Aragorn is very suspicious of a woman who tells no clear story and smells like an orc.

“Stranger things have happened than you or I have years to tell of it," Gandalf said. "Why does she unsettle you? Surely you do not feel threatened. I am tolerably certain you could defeat her if it came to violence.”
Aragorn scoffed at his gentle humor. “I’m glad to amuse you. There are more dangers than warriors and swords. Need I tell a wizard that?"
“I can assure you she is not evil and has not a whisper of magic.”
“Yet a beautiful woman appears directly in our path, leagues from civilization, and immediately gains the hobbits’ trust. No wizardry, you say?”
Kara was not *unhappy* at being called a beautiful woman (although his standards for human women, as opposed to elves, were probably low), but she was unhappy to be stuck eavesdropping. She’d seen this scene too many times in movies. They would definitely see her.

This was unexpectedly crazy good – gonna have to re-read it somewhen (aka after I finally get around reading the actual LotR books) <33

    Summary

    “As always, humans first.”

The crowd was silent, clearly unenthusiastic. You tried not to think about your odds—it never did you any good. What were six slips of paper as opposed to hundreds?

With a shaky breath, you quelled the hammering in your chest. It will be okay. You do this every year, right? Every year, you come to the square, watch two members of your community be sentenced to certain death, then go home and silently contemplate the conditions of your world. That’s how it went every year, and you were certain that is how it would go this year.

So when the cold metallic voice announced your name over the loudspeaker, you could feel your heart stop.

Ice shot down your veins and a ringing filled your ear. You thought you could hear your mother scream, but she sounded so far away, you could barely register it. Was it really… it was you?

Another announcement of your name, followed by a sing-song, “come up here, darling!” confirmed yes, you. You were the human tribute of District 12 in the seventy-fourth annual Games.

The concept was so good, and the execution even better <3

Don't really know much about HG besides the basics from watching it once years ago, but this really interested me.
