You won’t know what or when, but it will happen. Paths change, outcomes shift, and people reach places they never expected. What matters is that you keep moving forward long enough to see it.”
“Kamonohashi-san…”
“Focus on the present instead. If you focus too much on the future, you might lose something,” Ron said as he handed the present back to Toto. “That kid will never talk to you again if he finds out you lost his keychain.” With that, Ron turned and walked away.
Only to froze halfway.
“How…”
Ron held his breath. He already knew what was coming. What a careless mistake.
“How did you know it’s a keychain?” Toto asked.

Summary
Ron– his partner, his lover, the one he devoted himself to helping and supporting– doesn't need him anymore. Needing that assured Totomaru that he has a purpose in life.
He already did expect this at the least when he went after Alice. He already expected he would die here and he chose that. He can't blame Ron.

Ron looked around the table which could be for 3 person but the other chair doesn't chair a name. While the other tables have at least 6 people maximum on them. A bitter smile appeared on Ron's lips, Even being with someone else, he still knows every detail of me.
Ron didn't want to sit with anybody else that is not friends to him or a corpse that needs solving.
Soon the bride and groom entered the reception with western style wedding attire and received a lot of cheers from everyone. Ron merely stared at Totomaru, watching how wide his smile was beside his new wife.
It could have been me... by your side. The reason for your smile, the light in your eyes, your joy. The person who could have been with you in your entire life.
