A small smile spreads across Luocha’s face. “Oh, you know how people are. They’re often fascinated by the forbidden, and criminals in particular are popular.”
The look Luocha gives Dan Heng is a bit too knowing. “And those on the run tend to be especially sought after. Wouldn’t you agree, Dan Heng?”

"Um." Dan Heng's words trailed off as he looked in the hotel room, silence echoing like a loud judge.
Beside him, Blade stood, a deadpan expression on his face as he pulled the door open and faced the same view Dan Heng did. "Is that what that lady at the reception meant by 'special room'."
Before them was a vast expanse of beds. Like, quite possibly around ten beds. Dan Heng quickly counted "1,2,3...,9,10". Exactly ten. He didn't even know it was possible for a single room to have that many beds. What on Akivili was even happening.
There was only one bed!
...Wait. What do you mean?

He froze nearly at the top when he looked up and found cold teal eyes narrowed at him, pinning him in place. Whether Dan Feng had been tapping into the wards or his senses were just enhanced to an absurd degree right now he didn't know, and it didn't really matter.
"Gege," he said, swallowing.
"You shouldn't be here, Dan Heng," Dan Feng said, his voice tight and with a growl in it that was impossible to ignore.
