[Spoilers for C4E31.]
“You embarrassed me,” Occtis hisses. “You embarrassed me today.”
The boy is standing over the bed, gaze fixed on the mattress, seeing nothing as his clever mind fixates on some unknown fact of Julien’s prior conduct.
Julien tries to play the day’s hectic events back through his mind, but their flight from Dol-Makjar was a fearful one plagued by paranoia, so much so that he finds his recall hampered. He’s sure he was an asshole to everyone all day, but he doesn’t remember aiming it at Occtis, at least not on purpose.
Waiting for Occtis to volunteer information tends to involve more patience than Julien has handy, so he’d might as well ask. “When did I embarrass you?”
Occtis still doesn’t look at him. “You picked me up like a sack of grain in front of all of our colleagues.”
Of all the things to have a fight about right now, Julien feels like this isn’t the one he’d personally pick, and a stupid part of him wants to say so. An even stupider part of him wants to point out that that was last night, not today.
He manages to hold his tongue on these two points, but he can’t keep his ire from his tone. “What did you expect me to do? Leave you behind?”

“I dunno what I’m doing,” he whispers, pathetically, his heart fucking pounding in his chest like a goddamn metrenome- bumbumbumbumbumbum- as Steve breaks away to suck on his jaw, one hand under his shirt and the other threaded through Eddie’s.
“‘S’okay.” Steve murmurs, into his skin. His fingers wrap around Eddie’s waist. Applies pressure to his ribs. “Eds, just do what feels good.”
And that’s easy for Steve to say, but for Eddie, goddamn everything feels good. Everything sounds good. He wants Steve to swallow him whole.
OR- Eddie is nervous for his first experience with Steve.
Steve shows him he has nothing to worry about.

“Oh Steve. Stevie. Babe.” Eddie’s voice has taken on a manic quality that almost always means trouble.
“I am going to make so many things out of it.”
And…yeah. Steve supposes he should have seen that one coming.

Summary
The Hawkins Public Pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 8AM to 8PM, seven days a week. It employs three lifeguards, two of whom work each day: one from 8 to 2, and one from 2 to 8.
Objectively, Eddie knows that it’s weird for him to know this. Why should a guy who Does Not Swim concern himself with the work roster of a public pool he Does Not Swim at?
Or: Lifeguard Steve and Eddie meet up at the pool after hours.
