Summary
A new start in a new city, Iseya is content to sit apart from the residents of his new home and simply watch events unfold around him. However, a chance meeting with a recently orphaned mapmaker causes him to become much more actively involved than he anticipated. Suddenly he finds himself a guardian to the young girl and becoming more involved with the residents of Box Garden than he intended. Throw a Komainu stray rat into the mix and suddenly the life he thought he wanted no longer seems important.

Shizuo's life is given a glimpse of hope when a mysterious invite to the "Bureau of Iris Ensata," throws him into the world of the supernatural and yokai. But that hope of a new, better, life is starting to look dim as he finds himself partnered with a certain sly yokai with an annoying habit of calling him, "Shizu-chan."
Or: I created a plot where Shizuo and Izaya fight against evil spirits and yokai as part of an organization so that I could imagine the two being a badass power couple.
