You don’t need to know the game Still Wakes the Deep to follow this story, because I’m definitely not following the canon. I’m doing my own thing here.
(I'm just a huge Rennick - and g/t fan.)
Expect lots of G/T fluff, slow burn, and a deep dive into the relationship between a Human and a Borrower.
And this story is all about one such Borrower.
He lives secretly within the walls of Rennick’s house.
But what if the two of them meet and somehow become friends?

Simply because I love Medusa and Rennick :3
And I just have a vivid imagination, so I went ahead and turned Rennick into a Medusa.
I turned the whole damn oil rig into a fantasy AU.
It’s not just Rennick who’s a “mythical creature” now (is Medusa even a mythical creature? Oh, I have no idea).
The reader is definitely a human :3
But you can also write down ideas or suggestions, and then the reader can be a mythical creature or something too :3

I have no idea how to summarize this.
So here's just a little snippet from the story.
But I really hope you'll give this fanfic a chance.°°Before he can even begin to grasp a clear thought or calm his racing pulse, he feels Rennick’s light stubble against his ear again. Rennick leans in, his lips almost brushing the earlobe, and whispers with a dryness that sounds almost cruelly matter-of-fact:
“Ye’re truly terrifyin’ easy tae knock aff balance, McLeary.”°°(To be honest, I should really be writing Rennick x Reader stuff, but I’m sooooo bad at it.
That’s why I’d rather do Caz x Rennick :)

In this collection, I’ll upload small snapshots of those two idiots whenever I find the time.
Sometimes it’ll just be a single chapter, sometimes several.
Sometimes they’ll be so sweet it’ll make you want to throw up, and other times they might be really sad or funny.
Weird stuff will probably show up too, but I’ll just call that artistic freedom.
And as always: if you don’t like something, just don’t read it :)I can't write horror or physical horror, so there will be a lot of AU here where everything is fine.

The facts of his situation were finally starting to settle in. Randall was stuck in the human world, in the middle of the ocean. Seeing as he must’ve been far away from any human children, he could easily be stuck there forever for all he knew. Nobody would ever come rescue him here. And if Sullivan got his narrative across to the world? Nobody would ever want to come rescue him.

Randall gets banished to the Beira Delta oil rig instead of the swamp, and now has to figure out how to get home. It’s not long before he gets discovered by an interesting human.
Inspired by someone who said Randall was scottish.
