Summary

Now traveling under false names and bound by a fake marriage, Katara finds herself on the road to Ba Sing Se. At first, she barely trusts him, but somewhere along the way, she starts to realize Zuko isn't what she thought he was.
She keeps reminding herself it will end once they reach the city, but in a place crowded with millions of refugees and stuck in the Lower Ring, she doesn’t have much hope of finding her friends. With no leads and nowhere else to go, she resolves to wait for them to find her. But in their cramped apartment, the days turn into weeks, and the longer they stay, the harder it becomes to remember where the act ends and something real begins.

“AHHH!” Judy screamed as she turned the corner of her door and entered the living room. To her surprise, Nick was no longer locked away in his room. He sat on the couch, reclining carelessly in front of the TV, which he hadn’t bothered to prop onto the stand that Judy had purchased. But that was besides the point because Nick was naked! Or— more accurately, practically naked. He wore nothing but checkered boxers and a pair of fuzzy slippers.
“What are you doing?” Judy yelled, covering her eyes with her left paw.
“Um… watching TV…” Judy couldn’t see Nick’s face, but he sounded confused.
“I can see that,” she grimaced, “but why are you naked?” She peeked out from between the spaces in her paw.
Nick looked down at his boxer-clad body. “I’m not naked, I’m wearing my pajamas.”
“Gah!” Judy huffed in frustration. “You can’t just hang out in our shared spaces only wearing underwear! How would you feel if I did that.” She immediately blushed, realizing the image that she had just put in Nick’s head.

Any coquettish effect is mostly ruined by the three layers Astarion's wearing - undershirt peeking out from under his collar, another shirt, and some kind of robe he must have stolen along the way - and his miserable little nest of blankets. And the subtle redness to his nose, the tension in his shoulders to stop the shakes. Gods, there’s barely anything in here, for all the hedonistic treasure trove outside his tent. He’s all but slee – trancing on the ground. Elf or not, he’s got to be freezing.
In which the Shadow Curse means it's cold as hell, and Lora tries to help her dead, dainty lover warm up. (Inspired by Astarion's lines about cuddling and missing his partner's body heat.)

It’s almost endearing, to see him grow so flustered, his suave persona melting through his shock. You can’t help but smile, “I’m just not really interested in sex. That’s all.” You shrug, and Astarion looks at you as if that tadpole in your head has finally started to transform you.
(Or, you don’t want sex. Astarion doesn’t know what to make of that.)
