Summary
Traveling with the TARDIS sometimes meant not to arrive where one planned to go, but to appear where Idris thought her thief needed to be. One ought to assume that the thief had gotten used to it by now, and that his chosen psychopath would know better than to expect the right version of him to arrive.
What they didn’t know – neither of both were true. It simply ran in the family.
And the Library made that clear enough on the day the Doctor met River for the first, River the Doctor for the last and the both of them their daughter to a time she shouldn’t have been there at all.

Als der Fremde die Wächter erschuf, hatte er geplant damit seine eigenen Fehler auszubügeln. Jede kleine Variable war er durchgegangen und hatte den Ausgang – die Lösung gegen den Untergang des Universums – penibel zurechtgelegt.
Ju, Joon, Julia, die Wächter und sogar er selbst waren Puzzleteile in seinem perfiden Plan in dem er allein als Sieger hervorgehen würde.Zumindest, bis die Natur sich ausnahmsweise wehrte und einen anderen Plan schmiedete.
Einen, den er nicht kontrollieren konnte.

Summary
Dream has changed, perhaps for the better. He's happily married to Hob, his greatest beloved, the Dreaming is flourishing again just like it did before his captivity, and for the first time in a long while he believes that his, no, their life shall go on in a more or less peaceful manner. Then, they become fathers, again, and Dream has to fight forces larger than him to protect those he loves the most. He's ready to endure any kind of pain and loss if it means his husband and their daughter, their precious little treasure, are safe.

'Hob sighed and steeled himself before looking down to a reflection that was not quite his. He was pale, paler than anyone he had ever seen, water streaming down from his hair that had been laced with kelp and seaweed, eyes sunken and cheekbones more pronounced than they had ever been in all of his lives. He opened his mouth to gasp, eyes widening as he saw long pointed teeth that couldn't possibly fit in his mouth but somehow did. Dream logic, he reasoned with himself, turning his head this way and that to make sure that the reflection below him was actually his.

It is a truth universally acknowledged by anyone with any magical inclinations - that you did not fuck with the Endless. Not that anyone has seen them in centuries, with the exception of a few, but they are Not To Be Fucked With by every possible measure. It's a known fact - no matter the creature asking - be it fae, draconic, undead, or otherwise. To court the audience of an Endless is to court something far worse.
Hob never was the wisest dragon, and he freely admitted that.
