Summary
His eyes are a familiar, vibrant blue, like an act of defiance against this white hellscape they have found themselves in, and so very warm. Sometimes you put him in his place and he looks at you like you hung the moon in the sky—like you can reach out and hang it there if it disappears one day.

Summary
King (\ˈkiŋ\): The male ruler of an independent state, especially one who inherits the position by right of birth.
Knight (/naɪt/): a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a monarch or other political leader for service to the Monarch or country, especially in a military capacity. Historically, in Europe, knighthood has been conferred upon mounted warriors.
By their definitions, a King and a Knight are worlds apart.
This is a very different story.

"I was just thinking, you look like you give great fellatio," Q explains, because it isn't like he was staring to be weird or anything, only then Bond fumbles the glass he's holding and nearly spills brandy down his front.
(The one where Q plays piano at the hotel where Bond bartends, and the combined powers of alcohol and Billy Joel induce a reluctant, clumsy love story.)

Summary
His mission was supposed to be simple. Find Geoffrey Boothroyd’s son, who had developed a reputation for being quite the fearsome inventor, and convince him to come to MI6 to serve as quartermaster. He was given an address, a description, and a starting salary figure so high that he seriously questioned all his past career decisions. He was assured that Frederick Boothroyd was intelligent, practical, and yes, maybe a little prone to shooting people, but only if they insisted on disturbing his work. Altogether, simple.
James Bond knew better though. They didn’t send him on simple missions.
In which James Bond takes an unusual approach to his latest mission, much to the chagrin of his would-be quartermaster.

Summary
"It’s the rest of it that Q can do without—Bond's disappearing acts for months on end, his apparent inability to distinguish between being a honeypot and being honeypotted whenever he’s in the field, the casual way he bets his life at every turn as if it were one of the lower-value chips in a high-stakes game. Those sort of antics don’t get Q’s libido going, not by a long shot. They’re rather more likely to give him an ulcer.
In other words, unlike Bonnie Tyler, Q does not need a hero. He’d be perfectly happy with a research librarian with a kind smile and a soft middle and a collection of cozy jumpers Q could raid when he wanted to, if such a man were on offer. When it comes to love, Q wants a harbor, and James Bond is a hurricane. And so his heart, at least, has never been in any sort of danger from 007.
Until, unaccountably, the day that it is."

Summary
Growing up, Q always wondered about the nature of the writing on his left ribcage. Most people had names, poetry, or song lyrics, but he just had an angry rebuttal. Go figure.
(A character study of Q growing up with James's handwriting on his body and not quite knowing how to deal with it, because in my head canon he is just not the type of person to let things happen as they will.)

Summary
With his high collar and long summer coat, Q thought James looked rather dashing. In fact, the anger in his brows served only to increase Q’s attraction towards him in this state, not decrease it, as it reminded him of the stern and seemingly severe Mr Bond he had met before their courtship ever began. In his hand, James held a letter he had obviously been writing at his desk in the next room. His quill was still in his other hand, dangerously close to dripping ink on the pale wood floor. “Could you please ask them to stop with this noise?”
Q could only chuckle as he pretended to be much more interested in the book still in his hands. “That would not be helpful, James, dearest.”
James huffed. “It is a fine Pemberley tradition for the Master of the House to be irritable on the eve of a ball.”
“And,” Q replied, nonchalantly, still studying the same page of the book he had been staring at for the past ten minutes, “for his dear husband to do everything in his power to assuage him.”
Or, a 'Death Comes to Pemberley'-inspired Regency AU one shot where Q is Elizabeth Bennet and James is Fitzwilliam Darcy.

Summary
“You know, you’re not a very fun travel partner,” Q says. Really, how rude.
“Most people would beg to differ,” Bond says. He’s sure Q will be able to figure out what he’s alluding to, but apparently it needs to be said out loud, because Q smirks, before he speaks again.
“Oh. And what do you do with these people?”
“I shag them,” Bond says. He’s not usually one to beat around the bush, when the question is this direct.
Q, as expected, smiles like he already knew this would be the answer.
“Well,” he says. “I don’t put out until the third date.”__
Bond and Q are on a mission, and sleep together. Things go on from there. Well... when Bond says sleeping together, it's not exactly what he usually means. It seems, to get there, they take the long way round.
Or: Bond is a bit messed up. Q is a bit in love with him. This may or may not be a good cocktail

Nodus Tollens: the realization that the plot of your life doesn’t make sense to you anymore
Q's life at the technical help department of MI6 was decently quiet and paid reasonably well - it even gave him vacation time, although he rarely used it. So when Q was finally coaxed to leave work for a bit and relax, he thought that Paris might be fun.
Of course, that was before the gunfight, witnessing a shooting, and being kidnapped by a strange, blue-eyed gunman named James Bond.

What followed was the most bizarre courtship Q had ever—well, heard of, certainly. He didn’t have much to compare it to, but Moneypenny confirmed that normal people didn’t flirt like this. Not that he was normal. Not that any of them were.
Or: Q has a past, a cat, and a dangerous new boyfriend. Two of these things keep him up nights, the other pees in a box.

Summary
Bond, entirely aware that he’s committed a cardinal sin of tailing and made eye contact with his target, is glancing with forced nonchalance around the flounce-filled upscale Picadilly tea room when he sees a familiar set of shoulders. Thin, sloped, swaddled in a bottle-greed cardigan. A nest of inky-black hair that looks more like the pelt of a wild animal than a coif favoured by one of Six’s highest-paid staff. Dreamy, cream-coloured skin.
Bond steps out of the line for the till, leaving his quarry behind, and puts his hand on Q’s shoulder. Leaning down on the opposite side, he whispers: “Play along,” in Q’s ear. Then he ducks in to press a kiss to his neck. He smells of verbena and printer toner, sweet and sour.
Or: Five times Bond kissed Q
