“Yeah.” I extend the uninjured one, admiring the plumage. The movement still aches — my entire body does — but my wing unfurls with a rustle of soft, sleek feathers. Each feather is a gradient, starting blond near the base and fading into white along its length. “Wings are very good. When I woke up and saw them the first time I was a bit confused, but then very happy. It’s a sign that I’m here for the right reasons, even if space is scary.”
“Humans are strange,” he says. “Grow extra limbs because sacrifice. No make sense.”
“Yeah, I know. Now watch with me again to make sure I do this right.”

Stelle already has a bad feeling about whatever they're plotting but she does know she's really good at what they're talking about so she smugly adds, “Yup. Chances are if he's called Imbibitor Lunae, he'd kiss me in two seconds flat. So be good and ship me to him so we can, ahem, attend to our private matters.”
She wiggles her eyebrows for extra effect.
The effect works because the old man gasps with a dainty hand covering his mouth, “Oh my…”
