Genji was gone by the time Hanzo got up that morning.
He was worried, but figured his brother would couch surf for awhile before getting sick of it and crawling back to the loft. And, even in the heat of the anger still lowly simmering in his chest, he knew that he would let him back in when that happened, though not without reprimand.
But that was the last time he saw his brother.
Until the letter arrived.

Summary
Hanzo had never been one to play games, either in the literal or emotional sense. Both of those were Genji's areas of expertise. He preferred his life and fantasies to be straightforward and realistic, much like he was. But when he finds himself wearing his brother's VR visor, exploring a magical world in a new body, he wonders if he can allow himself just one fantastical respite from modern life. Where the cowboy fits into all of this, he has no idea.

But magical society refuses to make it easy for him, and an increasingly dramatic series of events—all of them instigated by Harry Potter—get him kicked out of med school, force him to live in exile, and threaten to destroy the new life he’s trying so desperately to build.

“Who's the new professor?” Harry keeps his voice light.
“Professor Malfoy,” Marie whispers and then glances around, as if saying his name will summon him.
Oh.
“Oh. You’ve got nothing to worry about. Professor Malfoy isn’t a Death Eater.” Harry almost sighs in relief but keeps that to himself. He’d thought there was going to be an actual problem.

Draco joins the staff of Hogwarts. Harry doesn't want any bad blood between them now that they're coworkers, so when he learns about a pureblood ritual to make amends, he jumps in feet first. But things aren't as easy as just saying "I'm sorry." Nothing ever is.

“Where is he?” The General asked, and Steve almost laughed in his face again.
“Ohhhh he’s long gone, you big asshole!” He smiled, and he could tell that the General didn’t like that. Good. “He’s probably calling Hopper and Hopper is calling the U.S. Cavalry, they’re going to come in here commando style, guns a-blazing and kick your sorry asses back to Russia, and you’re gonna be two pieces of toast.”
They laughed, because they knew it. Because there was no other possible future where the Russians won. He imagined the General, blood pooling around his body. Dead. The General would die, and Steve took comfort in that.
The General nodded at Steve, a smug smile spreading on his face, then turned to the Doctor and spoke some Russian. They talked there for a moment, then they both walked out without another word.
“That’s bad right?” Steve asked once they were alone again.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, that’s pretty bad.”
They leaned their heads on each others’ shoulders, and they stayed silent for a very long time. He focused on nothing but the connection, and hoped everything would sort itself out. He hoped Henderson was on his way.

“Steve,” Wayne echoes. “This is my home. Eddie’s my boy.” And then he ruffles his hair with one large hand, coarse from years of working with them, in an action that reminds Steve of Hopper.
“I’m gonna go down there and get my boy back. You’re gonna be my tour guide.” He holds his hand out for the final gun Steve has stashed, which he gives over reluctantly. He finds Wayne remarkably difficult to argue with—wonders if Eddie found the same. “Tour guides don’t need guns. You point at somethin’, I shoot it. Got it, Steve?”
