    It’d taken 1,979,094 kilograms to get here.
    So… there was not enough fuel to go back.
    This was a one-way trip.
    A suicide mission.
    “What the fuck do you mean?” He asked no one, slamming his closed fist on the armrest of his chair. Immediately he regretted it.
    He unclenched his fist, the sting of his nails digging into his palm aching. He exhaled long and slow, then patted at the armrest before lowering himself off the chair and to his knees.
    He, Grace, and their dead crewmate were on a suicide mission, and there was no fuel to go back even if they wanted to.

     

    aka the AU where Simon is from Earth, gets thrown into space right alongside Grace, and has the misfortune of waking up a little too early into the mission.
