Comments? No? Good, I need a drink.”

OR
Dante brings Nelo Angelo back home instead of killing him during the second fight. A man who has lost his identity has only one option: to find it again. (AKA, a Nelo Angelo character study mixed with self-indulgent brotherly bonding.)

It was only a matter of time that the pain of being whole again came back to Vergil. Vergil and Dante return to the human realm, but something has followed Vergil with him. The corruption that turned him into Nelo Angelo never really left his body, and Mundus's influence never really left his mind.

Summary
He whirled around to see an older man, dressed in the standard white garb of a Fortunan but with his hood down. The man’s hair was a pale white, which he didn’t seem quite old enough for but it was definitely not Nero’s place to say anything about white hair, and his face was calm yet severe, halfway to a grimace already even before Nero could open his mouth.
Instead of saying anything though, the man just stared as he dropped his hand. Nero gave him a few seconds before scowling, “What’re you looking at?”
After a further moment of silence, the man finally said, “My apologies. You seemed to be looking for something.”

or, vergil somehow washes up on fortuna at about the same time as the yamato, body still intact but mind in shatters. he still ends up with a messy family reunion, though at least this time, it's definitely not his fault.

Summary
Seven has spent most of his life alone.
Hidden away inside Hawkins Lab, he survives by keeping quiet, avoiding the other children, and enduring the endless noise inside everyone else’s heads.
When Eleven escapes the lab, Brenner sends Eleven into Hawkins to help bring her back.

As Hopper investigates old disappearances and Eleven hides from the men hunting her, Seven begins uncovering the truth about himself, the lab, and the child who vanished from Hawkins years ago.
