Summary
Here’s what no-one else in the boathouse knows: it’s not the first time Eddie has pinned Steve up against a wall. It’s not the first time Steve has been stuck under Eddie’s stare, it’s not the first time they’ve been close enough to feel each other’s heartbeats. No-one else knows that there’s more than fear in Eddie’s eyes, that there’s something akin to resentment, or maybe malice, or, Steve can’t tell, is it sadness, or desperation?
Or:
Steve and Eddie knew each long before Vecna, before Hellfire, before the Upside Down.

Summary
“Name?”
The nurse looks at him, green eyes equal parts kind and discerning.
“Steve,” he replies quickly, before he can second guess himself. He’s hoping against all hope that this nurse won’t know him on sight—and won’t know Eddie, either. A flash of the haunted look in Eddie’s brown eyes, the memory of the broken bottle against his neck, dispels any lingering doubts about Steve’s decision to lie.
“His name is Steve Harrington.”Or, a post-s4 finale, whumpy tale, where Eddie lives, Steve tells a lie, and the Party discovers there’s more to their favorite babysitter than they previously thought. Oh, and Steve and Eddie totally have a crush on one another. (We'll get there.)
Slowburn Steddie, an excuse to hurt Steve (not sorry), his dad is a POS in this, heed the tags! -

Summary
The zombie apocalypse hits, and Steve and Robin sacrifice themselves for their friends. And then they’re zombies, semi-self-aware, shambling around the mall, inexplicably never hungry, understanding each other better than the other zombies ever could, and inadvertently rescuing a girl named Max.
The mall isn’t safe for her, so Steve and Robin leave to find somewhere that is, and they might just find their way back to living again when they run into people who thought they were dead.
---
The zombie apocalypse hits, and the love of Eddie's life is a beautiful, idiotic, self-sacrificing asshole that lied when he promised to give Eddie another kiss when they met again. And then he’s trying to keep himself together while setting up a base, keeping a gaggle of reckless fourteen-year-olds alive, and fighting against the resignation of his friends. It all comes to a head when he takes Dustin on a walk and they hear a girl scream. When they reach her, they can only watch as the girl is saved by a heart-breakingly familiar zombie. A zombified Steve and Robin that don’t eat them on sight is already more than they could have ever hoped for, but they soon discover that the two are a lot less dead than they seem.

Summary
November 1983. Between unpaid bills, the supposedly straight jock he’s seeing, and letters from his convict dad, seventeen year old Eddie Munson’s got enough to worry about. But when Will Byers goes missing, it sparks a chain of events that will show there are more depths to Hawkins — and to certain people in it, like infamous Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington — than he realizes.
/ or, the excessively long slow-burn in which Eddie is involved in the Upside Down from the very beginning.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is basically a novel atp. Complex, pretty much original plot, fully fleshed out characters, callbacks and overarching themes and plot twists, the whole deal. This belongs on my bookshelf between Sanderson and Tolkien
