Summary
It’s a daily battle, reigning in his magic.

As Merlin finishes working the buckles on Arthur’s armor, he feels a creaking in his bones.
The moment Balinor’s pulse finally stilled on the forest floor, Merlin’s magic changed. No longer is his magic a flower waiting to bloom in his cupped palms, it’s an animal backed into a corner waiting to sink its teeth into the ones who put it there. The mutt at his feet has lost its patience.
There’s a flint being struck under his skin, generating sparks, seeking dry brush to ignite and swallow in flame.
Merlin is terrified.
He isn’t a seer, never mastered the art of scrying, but even he knows something is looming over the horizon.

Summary
No young man, no matter how great, or mystic can know his destiny. He cannot glimpse his part in the great story that is about to unfold. Like everyone, he must live and learn. And so, it will be for the young magic arriving at the gates of Camelot. A boy that will, in time, father the legend. His name: Merlin.
Or
A rewrite of Merlin if the writers weren’t cowards. A lot gayer, magic users aren’t the enemy in every single episode, and Uther is the actual villain of the story. Morgana is still a villain, but we have sympathy for her.

Summary
When Merlin kills Morgana, she thinks it’s finally over. But then she wakes up several years in the past, in the heart of Camelot, surrounded by the very people she wants dead.
She needs a plan, and she needs answers. Neither of these things turn out to be as simple as they seem, and Morgana begins to wonder if there could have been a different path for her after all.
