"In life, and in death in Charles' case, he's found that there is a certain rose tinted glasses aspect to hindsight. The places are always bigger, the food better, and you tend to forget the little frustrations that occurred along the way. The rough edges of existence are sanded away until what you have is an idealized version of how things used to be... He was starting to think they weren't actually worth the 35 years of pining now as he violently vomited into the barely functional toilet of their office. The warm hand on his back was nice, but the acid currently coating his esophagus mostly negated the pleasantness. Charles hated to admit it, hot blood flowing through his veins for the first time in three decades, but Edwin might have had a point."
While trying to get Niko back, the spell backfires and now the boys have bodies again...and it's awful. Turns out being sixteen forever is way worse when the sweat, bodily functions, hormones, and uncomfortably timed boners are part of the deal.

Summary
Charles takes a love potion to simulate being in love with Edwin only he can’t seem to get it to work.
After Edwin confesses his love to Charles, Charles feels the weight of it all and considers himself the unofficial protector of Edwin’s heart. Charles keeps noticing guys paying a little too much attention to Edwin and figures the tense feeling in his gut is due to the fact that none of them are good enough for Edwin. He comes to the decision that he can’t trust a random guy with Edwin’s heart and the only person he can trust not to break it is himself. Charles decides to take a love potion to make himself be in love with Edwin so they can be together and Edwin will be happy. The only hiccup it doesn’t actually work.

“Right. Okay.” Crystal thought fast, assessing the severity of the situation. “There’s a place me and Niko found. A new supernatural bar, and they serve drinks that will get anyone drunk, I’ve been assured. Let’s go.” She grabbed his arm and started to pull him forwards.
“Are you genuinely recommending I get pissed and try to forget about it?” Charles asked, caught between bewilderment and amusement.
“Worked for me and all of my breakups.” Crystal shrugged.
“I’m not going through a breakup!” Charles said hotly.
“Course you’re not.” She rolled her eyes as she linked her arm through his and pulled him towards the door. “But I’m just saying: if he’s moved on, then perhaps the best way to get over him is to get under someone else.”
“That is truly terrible advice.” Charles let out a grudging laugh.

“Crystal!”
Charles’ voice is tight with terror as he takes a few quick steps towards her but she shakes her head mutely. The blood stain on the front of her shirt does not grow and she stands up straight, despite the fact that she is pale as – well, as death. Three pairs of eyes shift towards the Cat King at the same time, who stands only a step away from Crystal now and who returns their look for a moment before glancing down at himself. Down, towards the rip in the front of his jumper, the fabric quickly getting soaked through with blood. The claw that had been meant for Crystal had cut straight through fabric and deep into his flesh.
“Oh, fuck” he mutters, sounding faintly annoyed. “I really liked this jumper.” -

Summary
In their attempts to rescue Niko from the Astral Plane, Edwin, Charles, and Crystal accidentally summon a second Charles Rowland from another universe.
Charles never gave much thought to whether he'd get along with an alternate universe version of himself. Technically, he should, this Charles was just like him: funny, clever, kind - a dead boy detective.
Except, this second version of Charles doesn't seem to know how to keep his bloody hands to himself, and off of Edwin.

Edwin breaks an orb that shows a person's greatest dream/desire and absorbs its powers, so now whenever someone touches him he sees their greatest dreams. Unfortunately the dream energy is also making him incredibly loopy and he is doing things and spouting out things he never normally would. His friends try to scramble to find a cure while also making sure Edwin doesn't get into too much trouble, soon finding that an inebriated Edwin is a lot harder to contain than they initially expected.
