No matter what Grace tries to tell him, Simon is very sure that the man is divine in nature. It just makes sense.

Simon winds up in The Enclosure, naturally. Grace is super down to have human company on planet Erid, but he really wishes someone would have given him a little bit of warning first. Especially about Simon’s religious cult upbringing — if he had known about that, he maybe could have planned a better-worded greeting that wasn’t basically, “Be Not Afraid.” He really set them up for failure with that one.

It's been years since Doctor Ryland Grace saved Erid and Earth. He is content with his life, happy just to teach the next generation of Eridians and have the occasional game night with Rocky and Adrian in his dome. For the most part, nothing changes.
And that's the problem. Shouldn't Grace, y'know...age? When Rocky indicates that he should be sixty human years old by now, Grace can't reconcile the young face in the mirror with the time that his friend has religiously kept.
Things get more complicated when another undoubtedly human ship shows up at the edge of the 40 Eridani system. Suddenly Grace is playing ambassador between the two species, and tensions are rising between them. Will this be a successful second contact, or is the peaceful life Grace just wants to live too much to ask for?

‘You’re not,’ Rocky insists, voice strident and pitched an octave higher than normal. ‘You’re not going to die.’
Grace’s eyes soften and well up with tears, his lip wobbling bravely. He finally smiles again, but the concomitant crease between his brows sullies it, leaves him jagged and brittle and poised to shatter at any moment, and Rocky has never felt closer to being human nor so far away from Grace than he does right now.
‘You’re not,’ Rocky vows.
‘…You really do believe that,’ Grace whispers, a tear tracing the curve of his cheek. He ignores his spine’s loud, creaking protests and leans down to rest his head against the xenonite.‘That’s why I’m sorry.’
Grace dies. Rocky invents time travel about it. (And then keeps inventing it, again and again and again.)

Maybe after all his time alone in space, Rocky was finally going insane. He was losing it, hallucinating. In a moment as sweet as this, his mind had conjured up a nightmare of tomorrow’s plan, of how it could go wrong.
Rocky shoved those horrid, horrible images to the back of his mind (that unfortunately couldn’t forget anything, ever), and focused on this moment, on Grace’s breath, his heartbeat, how cool his touch would likely be against Rocky’s burning carapace.
But try as he might, the vision just seemed so…so real.
Rocky keeps waking up the day before they go fishing for the astrophage predator on Adrian. Grace dies, and dies, and dies…and Rocky keeps trying to save him.

Here Eva is, stuck in a repeating slice of infinity at the not-quite-end of the world, and the thing that gets her to laugh is Ryland Grace swearing. It’s almost comical in its absurdity. “That was what you were going to say, yes?”
Dr. Grace gapes at her, opening and closing his mouth like a dying fish. “You—I—well, yes, but how did—how could you possibly have known that?”
“We have been here before, Dr. Grace,” she says, exhaustion bleeding into her tone. “Many, many times. You arrive at 4:59, you tell me you will not be the science specialist. We say a few things to each other, and I tell you that you are going on that mission. You run, and you are caught and sedated, and then I go back and I do it all again. It is always, always the same.”

Eva Stratt has been repeating the same five days for a very, very long time, and every single loop ends with every possible science specialist dead—except, of course, for Ryland Grace. After exhausting every other possible solution, she reluctantly tries her final idea in hopes that it will end these loops once and for all.

Seeing it in person makes my throat tighten.
I’m glad I’m alone. I can’t control the slight tremble in my hand and I’m not sure if it’s fear or grief, but there's something bubbling under my chest.
Grace died over a decade ago. I killed him. I know that.
I’ve had 26 years to sit alone in a cell with that. That and every other outcome.
But for some reason instead of touching the beetle I’m frozen wondering if perhaps Grace had touched it too.

“That was crazy! That was so cool!” Yuji grabs Okkotsu’s shirt, levering himself to his knees so they’re both gripping each other, knelt in the river the rain’s made of the road. The train rattles and screams overhead and over the noise, he shouts: “We fought a ghost, Okkotsu! We’re like… Ghostbusters!”
“What?!”
“We just beat up a ghost! That’s so cool!”
“No! What?! That—that’s not remotely what happened!” Okkotsu is so outraged he seems to have forgotten to be scared about his personal poltergeist eating a local ghost and almost killing his underclassman. The final car of the freight train finishes tearing past and into the rain and comparative silence, Okkotsu shouts, “You don’t get it, Itadori! I’m going to get you killed!”
Yuji blinks.
“No, you’re not.” He points at himself. “I’m too tough? Remember?”
AKA: The new generation of jujutsu monsters grew up feral and fighting curses together in Sendai. I'm sure this will have no major ramifications for the world as a whole.
