Summary
Little things that didn’t quite add up. Little things that kept her up at night when she first started noticing.
The way Sophia never seemed truly tired, even after their longest days that left the rest of them out of order for the next few days. How she always seemed to know when someone was approaching; her head already turned toward the door a few seconds before the knock or appearance came. It was in the precise way she moved, like every gesture was calculated for maximum efficiency. Or, it’s someone deliberately slowing herself down. It’s how she sometimes seemed to hear things that the rest couldn’t; she’d pick up distant conversations, footsteps in the hallway outside their apartment, and even cars backfiring on the street far below.
