His head already hurt though, and he just hoped this plan still worked.

The air itself had stilled and the wind seemed to freeze. Everyone turned their gazes upward to a spot just by the roof of an office building. Reality blipped and warped. The world lost focus. A boom shook the Earth, deafening and ground shaking.
He looked back up just in time to see a body fall from where the site of the blip. Its acceleration was slowed, but still plummeting fast. With a powerful kick of his legs, he flew forward, meeting them halfway. He gathered them in his arms and carefully touched back down.
It was a boy. No older than eighteen, and covered in wounds and grime. And he was wearing a very familiar scarf.

Wilbur didn’t mean to get shitfaced, blackout drunk on a Thursday night at a stranger's house. But sometimes, that’s just how it worked out.
Midterms brought out different sides of people.
So, now, instead of studying, Wilbur was in a house with blaring loud music and a red solo cup in his hand. The colorful lights swirled and blurred together, creating a beautiful mess.
And if Wilbur could make out any detailed objects, he downed his drink and got a new one. He just needed something to make him forget. And right now, he had no clue what he was trying to forget, so mission accomplished.
And the more he drank, the better he felt, so why stop there?
OR: Wilbur gets drunk and his family swoops in to pick up the pieces (even if they’re the last people he wants to swoop in)

Summary
A trip through Wild's Hyrule comes to an end just as anyone would expect; only this time, Wild isn't called to pass through the portal. In the face of a mysterious second adventure, he must stand aside while his brothers depart without him. Likewise, the chain is forced to leave Wild behind with no idea when they may see him again. They're left to wonder if this marks the end of an unsuccessful journey or if something is happening to their brother while they're separated.
Basically, I saw all the angsty "Wild has to leave" fics and said "Hold my beer."
Also, teen and up is the rating simply because the themes might get pretty heavy and there are a few curse words. Beyond that, it should be safe.Edit: I'm eating my words. Please read the tags.

After transmigrating to an apocalyptic Hyrule to replace a dead hero and absolutely sweeping the game fifty thousand Rupees richer, Wild is ready to kick back and relax. Of course, the world has no intention of letting him have any rest.Dying always sucks, but life is considerably different when you’ve died by electrocuting yourself trying to charge your Switch instead of defending a princess to your final breath.
