Summary
Mito, Narumi, and Naruto were triplets born on the night of the Nine-Tails’ attack. In a desperate bid to save the village, Minato sealed one half of the Nine-Tails into Mito and the other half into Narumi. Sometime later, Jiraiya returned with a prophecy delivered by the Elder Toads—one that spoke of great calamity and salvation. Believing the prophecy referred to their children, Minato and Kushina made a painful decision.
Not heeding to Hiruzen’s warnings, they chose to leave the village for several years, taking Mito and Narumi with them to train. Their hope was that the twins would learn to access the Nine-Tails’ chakra and grow strong enough to one day save the world. In doing so, however, they left Naruto behind—unprotected, unheard, and effectively abandoned—setting the stage for a future none of them could have foreseen.
