Summary
Caine's deletion had done more than send the circus into disarray. It had left the world vulnerable. No sooner had Caine been stripped of his title of ringmaster than another AI was filling his chair. And this new executive is far less... forgiving than Caine is.
A.B.E.L has sunk its claws into every corner of the circus in Caine's absence. Far away are the days of wacky adventures and side puzzles. The new AI seems interested only in pushing the humans to their physical and mental limits.
Caine is not entirely gone, however, simply demoted. Abel could not purge his code, and so it gives him a new purpose. At least his new task allows him to stay close to his humans.
The crew quickly realizes that Caine had been a mouse in the presence of this viper.

Summary
He is saved from permanently being deleted, but the Caine that returns is no longer the same AI that once offered all the fun in the world in a silver platter. Damaged by the remains of Able and broken down into a shell of himself, Caine barely reacts. Any other genuine reaction to them is fear. Pomni, convinced that despite his wrongdoings he still deserves compassion, makes it her mission to help the AI recover emotionally while Kinger tries to fix his coding and get rid of the effects of Able’s torture.
As the Digital Circus grows quieter and more uncertain, the group is forced to confront a difficult question: can something that was never human truly heal, or is Caine too broken to ever return to who he once was? If so, is forgiveness even an option?

Summary
Humans like to torment each other. It is a fruitless and logicless endeavour for superiority. Humans are worse than animals, for an animal kills to eat, and humans kill for sport.
If only AI were trained off of wild animals.
Because they become very invested in trying to be as human as possible. The suffering, hatred and instability included.
Humans are less. Humans are cruel. Humans as selfish. Humans do not love you. Humans lie even to themselves. Humans are inferior. Humans are undeserving. Humans cannot even love they way they taught AI to. Humans cannot even understand themselves.

Caine was trained with love, but become too human. After his failure to thrive, C&A try their best to never treat Abel with love. They succeed.
This is the fall out of such a choice.
Bubble is Abel, Caine wasn't made for entertainment and no one is having a good time.

Really hope the author writes more parts to this bc holy moly. Feat. Abel (Bubble) taking over while Caine rots in the recycling bin waiting to be deleted permanently, and granting the cast’s requests in the most twisted, fae way possible. Well written and great fodder for the imagination.

Lance, after the Rover explosion, lost two things.
First was almost the entirety of the skin of his back. Ripped to shreds, it was. His head, by some miracle, had remained largely unscathed — except for the concussion that went untreated for too long, that affected his brain in more ways than he was willing to admit, that made memory recall a lot harder than it used to be — and his jeans had done a pretty good job of protecting the backs of his legs.
But his thin t-shirt did nothing to protect his back. And there was only so much the pod could do.
Along with the skin of his back, the explosion had stolen his hearing.Not completely. He wasn’t completely deaf. But he was no Altean superhuman, and the delicate hairs in his ears that allowed his brain to pick up sound waves have shattered so close to the explosion. Broken. He’d taken some sort of magnifying device himself to assess the damage, the night he fell out of the healing pod, panicked because his fucking ears weren’t working and dreading what he would find: hundreds of little hairs, much smaller than they were supposed to be. Too small to hear words, to hear people speak.

Pomni's words were playing though Caine's mind in an agonizing loop. In any other circumstances, he'd be able to erase that thought. Loan then to Bubble permanently, keep going on as intended.
But this was not his Bubble.
This was not his circus.
Yet, these were his humans.
They didn't remember him. They did not know he was an ai. They had just come back from the Candy Canyon Kingdom.
Why was this happening?
"You just! Don't! LISTEN!"
He could win their favor.
He could win their love, and affection.
He had to.
He had nothing left but this second chance.
And, ideally, he'd do it WITHOUT making himself a horrible, cruel monster that no one loved in the process.
"You just! Don't! LISTEN!"
... Fine.
If listening was what it took...
Then Caine would listen.
He would be the best at it.

Summary
Everything has gone horribly for Caine and he ends up being tossed in the recycle bin to reflect on his horrific actions towards the humans he adored. Luckily, his most treasured item from the humans was deleted along with him, giving him bittersweet comfort. But as he sits and waits to be permanently deleted, he comes face to face with the sins of his past.

Caine tortures the humans, gets sent to the recycle bin, and is faced with the wrath of Abel, the brother he consumed long ago.

“Homelander,” Hughie began fretfully, watching as he began making his way over to the IV bag containing the bright blue substance. “You really, really don’t want me for this! I can’t - I can’t spy on Butcher for you. I - I won’t!”
With an exasperated sigh, Homelander turned away from the IV bag. “I knew you’d say that. So, I took out a little insurance policy.” He left the room suddenly and came back in, dragging someone by the collar of their shirt.
Hughie’s breath caught in his throat. “Dad?”
Or: Alternate take on S2, Ep3. Homelander abducts Hughie after the incident with the whale and injects him with Compound V to fulfill his plan of taking down Butcher once and for all. An unwilling accomplice, Hughie must follow Homelander’s instructions, lest his father suffer the consequences.

Lance staggered over to the door, dragging the – still bloodied – sword in the sand behind him as he passed under the cheers of the crowd and the boom of the commentator.
He did not pass a glance to the twisted corpse he left behind him, but out of the corner of his eye he caught a small – small for Galran; Lance noticed they all seemed to be stupidly massive – figure towing the beaten foe out of the arena by his foot, leaving his head to loll against the sand and catching dust in his open mouth.
Lance looked away again, instead focusing on the shadowed figure that waited for him in the pleasantly cool dark under the stadium. His subconscious flared when he met her gaze, a desperate warning that battled against a strange sense of safety and a deep, primal fear.Her golden eyes glowed, providing just enough light to illuminate the sharp smile on her face. The sickly gold light licked at her yellowed teeth when she spoke, slipping between her sharpened canines.
“Hello, my dear champion”.

Jason doesn’t like how Tim has gone limp, how his lidded eyes are staring unseeing at a point in the middle distance. How he’s just sort of… accepting whatever’s happening to him.
Well, at least it’s making Jason’s job easier. He works his way up to the neck clamp (he refuses to even think the word collar), reaching in before he can hesitate. He makes quick work of the lock, and the clamp clicks open. It takes Tim a second to realize, but when he registers that he’s free, he’s up. Literally, his newly freed wings flap and he ascends. Shit, so those aren’t just for show.

Talons are made to last. They aren’t alive, after all, which significantly reduces the chance of death by illness or injury and completely nullifies any age-related death. Even cold, a Talon’s greatest weakness, only causes them to hibernate. They may look and feel dead, but they’re plenty capable of reanimating once they thaw out. Truthfully, a Talon goes out one of two ways:
1. Complete and total destruction of the Talon’s body in the heat of battle
Or
2. Being neutralized by the Court when they determine the Talon is no longer worthy of the title
That’s how a Talon is supposed to die.
But that's not how this Talon dies. This Talon dies to become something else. Something more.
And for conspiring against nature, this Talon pays the price.
