    Summary

A loud banging startles Grace out of his daydreaming.

    “GRACE, GRACE! WAKE UP NOW!”

Grace stumbled himself out of bed, groggy and drowsy from the lack of sleep. He opens his door to a pair of jittering Eridians that he calls his best friends.

“Rocky? Adrian? Why are you here? It’s very early for your regular visi-“

“Grace! Come with! Eridian scientists need to talk to you!” Rocky anxiously tweets, pacing in place.

“About what? Is something wrong?” Grace glances around the biodome, worried that maybe it’s a structural problem or maybe a strange weather anomaly. His mind begins to imagine a crack forming in the clear xenonite and something catastrophic occurring, but Rocky makes quick work of trying to herd Grace out the door of his house, effectively ending his what if imagination.

    Summary

Dr. Ryland Grace is an odd man.

When Eva Stratt first approaches the man, he's not alone.

She was under the impression that he had no loved ones, but the way that he looks at the man casually lounging on his desk, his face obscured from his dark hair cascaded in front of it, with such fond adoration, Stratt realizes that rather her sources were incorrect or this is a new development.

    Summary

Simon didn’t expect his savior to be exactly his type.

What a welcome sight. Even if this stupidly handsome man ends up being evil, or working for the C.O.I, at least he’d die looking at something good.

    or

Grace and Rocky find Simon's ship floating in deep space on their way to Erid.

    Summary

“No word in Eridian. Human Earth thing. Explain.”

Ryland thinks back, then – oh. Ohhhh. Oh God. “What, Jesus Christmas?”

    “Yes. Yes yes yes.”

    “Ohhhhh boy,” says Ryland.

Admittedly, he kinda wants to have this conversation. Not because he’s looking forward to bumbling through a terrible explanation of the thousand Gods that humans have worshipped over the centuries, but he’s curious to know if Eridians worship anything. If they have ancient theories about the origins of the universe that morphed into a way of life over the years. Where that might’ve come from.

Alien theology might’ve been the number-one priority of some human scientists and biologists, and maybe he should’ve asked about this before he sent the Beetles off, but – hey. This is just for him. Besides, he’s flying to Erid. It’ll be good to know cultural customs before he lands and says something that accidentally offends a whole alien religion, or something. Because that’s something he would 100% manage to do.

    “What.”

    “Rocky, do Eridians have religion?”
