Summary
Our soulmates meet again at South London Polytechnic in 1980. Rich is a musically gifted student, trying to make ends meet to give his ex wife money for their toddler daughter. Anthony is a law student whose beauty attracts people wherever he goes.
When Anthony auditions for Rich's band, the two boys hit it off immediately. They become best friends, Anthony gets a deep crush on Rich, while Rich is battling to keep his sexuality a secret. Friendship turns to love, but Rich's determination not to give into his desires drives Anthony away and he ends up joining a band that propels him to world stardom.
Rich comes to terms with his sexuality and he and Anthony start a passionate relationship that they must keep secret to protect Anthony's career and Rich's reputation as a gay rights campaigner.
Years pass, friends are lost to the AIDS crisis, Anthony battles depression and the weight of keeping his sexuality secret, Rich fights to keep seeing his daughter, campaigning for gay people and coping with Anthony's personal and professional problems.
As the 80s draws to a close, will they decide the 90s holds no future for them, or will they both take the giant leap that will ensure their happy ever after? -
