Love everything you do

Summary:

Bride Miles reflects on his bond with his husband, Vampire Alex. How it all began and how he'd loved Alex from the moment he first laid eyes on him during the ritual. He's eventually brought back to reality by a tender kiss.

Then Alex takes over, reflecting on how beautiful his bride is and how much he'd worship him just to prove how important he is to him. His whole existence seems all-consuming. He teases his lover.

Notes:

No explanations this time, just this. I discovered Vampire 2013 Alex last week and haven't been able to stop thinking about him, along with cute photos of Colour of the Trap Miles flooding my Pinterest. A woman doesn't need to be tempted thrice.

I decided to try my hand at fantasy again and realized it's so much easier for me to write. One day, my hybrid fic will materialize!

For now, have this little attempt at sounding poetic and simply enjoy Miles being the gorgeous babe he is, along with a hopelessly lovesick Alex who likes teasing him with his fangs.

Listen to Training Wheels by Melanie Martinez on repeat. Just do. The lyrics don't match, but the instrumental absolutely does. My ears work weird. Sorry, not sorry. I tried listening to Dracula Teeth for this, but it didn't fit the vibes. It's one of my favs, but for now, it has to rest.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

—August, 2113

The curtains rustled softly as the cool autumn breeze drifted through the open windows, carrying the crisp scent of fallen leaves and fresh air. Candles flickered gently on the tables and shelves, their golden light dancing across the walls and filling the dim sitting room with a warm glow. The sweet fragrance of vanilla and cinnamon candles lingered in the air, mixing with the fresh autumn breeze. The green leaves of the houseplants shook lightly, their shadows swaying across the floor with every blow of wind.

Outside, rain clouds gathered as orange and golden leaves drifted lazily from the trees, tapping softly against the windowpanes. The quiet crackle of the candle flames and the whisper of the wind created a peaceful silence, making the room feel calm, cozy, and wrapped in the gentle embrace of autumn.

Miles shifted comfortably on the sofa and leaned over to smooth lotion across his freshly shaved legs, taking his time as he hummed a tune beneath his breath. His thoughts wandered somewhere far from the present, carried away by the melody and the quiet of the house.

He was waiting for his husband to return from yet another meeting with the business management at the Arctic Monkeys London headquarters. Dinner sat warming on the stove, and beside two polished crystal glasses rested a bottle of imported blood, already uncorked and waiting on the dining table.

Lately, Alex had been buried beneath complications at work, and though Miles tried not to dwell on it, worry had settled in his chest. Alex left before sunrise and returned long after the city had fallen asleep. He barely ate—even if, technically, he didn't have to. Miles insisted on cooking anyway. It was an act of love, and Alex accepted every meal for the very same reason.

Most evenings ended the same. Miles would stubbornly wait up until exhaustion tugged at his eyelids, only to wake hours later tucked safely in Alex's arms, his husband having returned at some point during the night. More often than not, he'd wake to soft kisses pressed to his hair or temple, Alex holding him close as though he'd been gone for years instead of only a few hours. Occasionally a naughty hand would slip under the sheets or he'd ask if he can feed on him.

Sometimes, with sleep still clinging to him, Miles would open his eyes to find Alex simply watching him, wearing an expression so impossibly tender it almost hurt to witness.

As though every glance was the first.

The thought warmed Miles more than the candles burning throughout the sitting room, and a fond smile tugged at his lips as he rubbed lotion over his other leg. Before he knew it, memory began to unfurl, carrying him back to the day everything had changed. One hundred years ago.

The morning of his wedding. October, 2013

He remembered standing perfectly still while a handful of ladies fussed over him, straightening every fold of silk and smoothing every stray curl until not a single imperfection remained. By sunset, he was to marry Alexander Turner—the Alexander Turner.

One of the oldest living vampires. One of the most influential men in the modern world.

Only days before, Miles had been painfully ordinary. Just another human living peacefully alongside vampires in a society that had learned to coexist. Fear had become an old story told by grandparents. Vampires sustained themselves on animal blood, and human blood was reserved for only the rarest of circumstances: a willing Turning or the fulfillment of ancient prophecies that bound one human soul to one vampire for life. Granting the human forever youth as long as the vampire lived.

Miles had never believed the prophecy would have anything to do with him until it did. Life had reached down, taken him by the shoulders, and spun him into an entirely different existence. It had begun with a single knock on his mother's front door on his birthday, followed by the careful unveiling of an ancient parchment so old its edges had yellowed with centuries and threatened to crumble at the slightest touch. The names upon it were written in dried blood, preserved impossibly well despite the paper's age. Legend claimed the writing remained blank until the human destined for the bond reached their twenty fifth year. Only then would fate reveal itself. And there, beside the name Alexander Turner, another had appeared in the same dark crimson ink. His own. Miles Kane. or as it was written, Miles Kane-Turner.

Before the bond, Miles had only known Alex by reputation. Everyone had. His music empire had existed for so long that its beginnings had blurred into myth, surviving kingdoms, revolutions, wars, and every era of music the world had ever known. There were whispers that Mozart had once performed beneath his patronage, that Beethoven had composed for one of his lavish parties, and that Tchaikovsky had exchanged letters with Alex. Then came the names history never forgot—Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, and countless others. Every generation seemed to produce legends, yet the same man lingered behind the curtain, quietly guiding careers while never stepping into the spotlight himself. Artists grew old, retired, and passed into history. Alexander Turner simply remained, wearing the same youthful face century after century.

Miles had expected someone terrifying. Cold. Untouchable.

Instead, the first thing Alexander did upon meeting his fated Bride, was smile at him as though he'd finally found something he'd been searching years for.

With a subtle gesture, Alex dismissed the ladies attending to Miles. They bowed their heads before quietly filing from the room, leaving the two of them alone. Alex closed the distance with unhurried confidence until he stood directly before Miles. He held only a slight advantage in height, yet his presence seemed to fill the entire room.

He tilted his head, studying Miles in thoughtful silence.

His crimson eyes lingered first on Miles's curls, delicately adorned with tiny white flowers, before drifting lower to his narrow shoulders. A white satin drape rested elegantly across his frame, its edges embroidered with delicate chiffon appliqué blossoms that cascaded gracefully over his hips. A slim band framed his waist, accentuating his small figure, while matching white trousers fell in straight lines to his ankles. White heeled shoes completed the look, leaving a glimpse of his ankles exposed.

Alex's gaze settled there. One dark eyebrow lifted.

The tiny gesture made Miles draw in a quiet breath.

It was the first time he'd ever seen Alex with his own eyes. The stories, the rumors, the legends, they had never prepared him for the vampire standing before him now. The man who had existed for thousands of years, who had shaped music history from the shadows, was suddenly standing close enough for Miles to see the faint curve of his smile.

He was dressed entirely in black, his hair swept back into a sharp quiff that revealed the widow's peak at the centre of his forehead. His features were striking, from his defined jaw to the sharp, elegant line of his nose. His suit was tailored flawlessly to his frame, accentuating his broad shoulders and narrow waist. Against his pale skin, the dark fabric made him seem almost carved from marble.

He was unbelievable.

Miles’s pulse fluttered wildly beneath his ribs, caught somewhere between awe and nervousness. He had spent days preparing himself to meet someone who would probably ignore him for a current lover or so.

But Alex looked at him like he was something precious. Something worth waiting for. And that terrified Miles more than anything.

Because beneath the fear was something far stranger, a pull he couldn't explain, an instinct buried so deeply it felt as though it had always belonged to him. The bond. The impossible truth that this vampire, this legendary man, was meant to be his.

All Miles wanted in that moment was to make Alex smile again. To be someone worthy of the devotion he saw reflected in those crimson eyes. To spend the rest of his life proving that fate had chosen correctly.

Alex hummed softly. “Hello there, pretty boy... Miles?”

There was a teasing edge to his voice that immediately shattered the tension.

Miles felt heat rise to his cheeks at the way he said his name and dropped his head. “Hey…Alexander.”

A hand gently caught his chin and lifted his gaze. Miles could have sworn his heart stopped entirely when Alex smiled, the brief flash of his canines reminding him exactly what stood before him.

Yet somehow, it did not frighten him.

“Don’t hide from me,” Alex murmured. “I wouldn’t want to wait a moment longer. You are meant to be loved beyond measure.” His thumb brushed gently against Miles’ skin. “Your name took centuries to reveal itself to me. I dreamt of how you would look, how you would sound, how it would feel to have you beside me. I wondered if I would ever truly know your presence. I endured countless years questioning whether fate would ever bring you to me.”

Miles blinked, unable to find words.

“Allow me to give it all to you.”

Before Miles could answer, Alex leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead. His lips were cold, but impossibly gentle, and Miles would have thought he imagined it if not for the way Alex pulled back with a quiet smile.

“Can’t wait to know every part of you, darling.” Alex whispered.

His hands came to rest against Miles’ cheeks, warm despite the coolness of his skin, grounding him when his nerves threatened to overwhelm him. Miles fought the instinct to rush forward, to bury himself against Alex’s chest and let the weight of the moment disappear.

“Don’t be nervous,” Alex murmured.“Everyone will be watching you. They will see what I see: a beautiful creature. Strong. Resilient. Someone who is going to endure it all.”

Miles finally allowed himself to relax beneath the warmth of Alex’s voice.

“Yeah?” Miles smiled. “You really see me that way?”

“I feel you,” Alex said. “I swear, Miles, I can feel something in you when you smile like that. Something I’ve been waiting centuries to find.”

His gaze lingered on him, filled with quiet certainty.

“I cannot wait for you to feel it too. To understand what I feel whenever I look at you.”

The giggle that escaped Miles surprised him. It was soft and unrestrained, the kind of giggle he hadn’t realised he had been holding back from how giddy he’d felt listening to Alex.

Alex stared at him as if the sound itself was something priceless. And for a moment, Miles forgot that Alex was a legend. He was simply a man looking at him like he was the only thing in the world worth seeing.

At the altar, Miles gazed at Alex with a nervous smile on his face. Alex only winked at him before he wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him closer. His other hand settled at Miles’ nape, gently tilting his head as his fangs bared and grazed the tender flesh of his neck.

Miles couldn’t stop the shudder that rushed through him. His hands went to weakly tug at his shoulders.

“It wouldn’t hurt. I promise,” Alex whispered. “I would never make you cry.”

He spoke as though he could feel the fear moving through Miles’ blood, as though every nervous thought and every ounce of uncertainty was laid bare between them. With unexpected gentleness, Alex pressed a kiss to his pulsing vein before completing the bond. Fangs pursed skin, and Miles let out a quiet gasp as Alex closed his mouth and dug his teeth deeper, sucking in blood. Marking him in front of legends, vampires, and Miles’ own mother.

A strange warmth overtook Miles, leaving him breathless. Only after Alex separated did he finally open his eyes, his fingertips immediately brushing over the mark that now rested upon his skin, healed by a lick. When he looked up, he was met with Alex’s crimson stained lips and fangs slowly retreating back into place. Something ancient and powerful moved through Miles as he stared into his eyes. He could feel him. The overwhelming emotions that radiated through their bond. The relief, the anticipation, the happiness of finally having found the person Alex had waited centuries for.

“I now pronounce you the Bride of Alexander Turner. For better or worse, in sickness and in health, and for all the centuries to come. Love and cherish the bond the gods have placed upon you, and protect the sacred connection you now share.”

Back in the mansion, Miles was laid out on black sheets, pale slender legs exposed as Alex kissed up his thighs, biting softly and sucking more marks as he whispered praise. Miles had moaned for hours, had grasped and arched into Alex in an act of submission. Loving the way he was being taken apart and put back together with practiced ease. Not a single thing had hurt, or maybe he’d been too induced in Alex’s senses ,he hadn't noticed.

Alex had kissed him too. It was as if he’d been starved for years on end. His tongue explored every nook of him. Miles felt tender. When Alex kissed his mark, he’d felt light burst behind his eyes as he came down. His arms and legs wrapped around Alex as he thrust into him. Slow and passionate. He’d called out Alex’s name for the moon to witness. He had promised to love him, to stand beside him, and to cherish the bond that fate had placed between them. And Alex, had only smiled softly as he brushed Miles’ hair back from his face. He pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of his nose, laughing quietly, when Miles giggled and instinctively buried himself against his chest once his nerves finally began to fade. Loving the way his cold skin cooled down his overheated body.

Miles blushed as he closed the bottle of lotion and leaned back, rubbing the excess into his arms. He knew he would never stop recalling that night, no matter how much time passed.

“Hello there, beautiful.”

Miles smiled as he felt a familiar presence behind him.

Alex.

A hand slipped around his shoulders and settled against his left cheek. Cool fingers curved along his jaw, gently guiding his face until he had no choice but to look directly at him.

“Hey, darlin’.” Miles replied.

He leaned into Alex as their lips met in a soft kiss. Alex hummed quietly against him, clearly pleased.

“Came early just for you,” Alex murmured between their lips. “No one could keep me away from you any longer. Not when I’ve got you waiting here for me, all pretty.”

Alex pulled back and stared at him, taking in his gorgeous bride.

Miles’ hair was wavy and soft, a strand falling over his eye. His lips were slightly pursed, freckles scattered across his cheeks , and a natural blush warmed his face, making him look even more precious.

“You’re obsessed,” Miles giggled, ducking his head softly. His curls fluttered as he looked back up at Alex, the collar of his shirt slipping from one shoulder. He was breathtaking.

A faint blush warmed his cheeks, his eyes bright with amusement, and his smile soft and fond. The exposed slope of his shoulder and the easy way he looked at Alex made something in his chest ache.

Beautiful. Always beautiful.

He then shifted onto his knees on the sofa so he could properly face him.

“I missed you. I was worried about you.”

Something like fire lit inside Alex at the admission. Miles’s voice and honesty never failed to undo him. How could they? He was everything Alex had ever wanted.

Lifting his hand, Alex cupped his cheek and leaned closer, gently brushing their noses together.

“I’ll make it up to you tonight, yeah?”

Miles's smile turned cheeky, his eyes shining with excitement. He bit his lower lip, then nodded eagerly.

Before Alex could stop himself, he smirked and leaned down to lift Miles into his arms. Miles gasped, immediately holding onto his neck.

“You little menace, put me down.” Miles kicked his feet.

“Hmm, I don't think so,” Alex said, raising a brow.

Miles narrowed his eyes. “You’re impossible.”

Alex gasped dramatically. “That’s cruel. After everything I do for you?”

Miles laughed when Alex carried on as if he'd been personally wounded.

“You’re such a drama queen.”

“I’m a vampire, darling. We thrive on theatrics.”

Miles shook his head, but the smile on his face gave him away. When he kissed Alex’s jaw in retaliation, Alex only laughed.

“If that’s your revenge, then I’d say I’m rather enjoying it, Mi.”

Miles huffed and buried himself into his arms until he was settled down on the table.

Alex went to plate their food. It was moments like this that made him question how much he would actually do for Miles. He was supposed to serve him, yet Alex didn’t find the point in him doing so in areas he himself wasn't affected by. Miles was the one who ate, he cooks amazing food that Alex allows himself to indulge in, so why not help him around?

After dinner, Alex found himself kissing Miles again, hunger coursing through him as though the blood and food did nothing to soothe his ache for his lover. His hand touched under Miles’s shirt and caressed his petite waist, pulling him close to feel every inch of his skin moving his lips down to kiss neck, Alex teased his mark with his canines. Enjoying the way Miles was already sighing into him, arms wrapped around his neck, eagerly pulling him closer as he rolled his hips on his lap.

“Oh god, Alex—Dont stop.” Miles begged. Alex felt his breath pick up.

“Dont plan to.”

Pushing back from the chair, Alex stood up and lifted Miles into his arms, smiling against his moan when he snaked his hands into his loose shorts. Reconnecting their lips, Alex kissed him fervently as he walked towards their room, using his senses to guide them. Loving the way Miles’s hands messed up his hair. Miles was light in his arms and desperate, already tired from kissing as he allowed Alex to move his face with just his lips. Kicking the bedroom door open, Alex squeezed Miles’s ass as they both tumbled onto the bed.

Moving his lips to his neck, Alex started kissing up and down, his fangs grazing against his mark, causing Miles to let out a loud whimper, hands coming down to clasp on his shoulder, “P-please Al. Ah–Please.”

Alex breathed him in, then used his hands to wrap his legs around his waist and then grabbed his jaw. He pulled back from the kiss to stare into those almond eyes that owned him.

“Please, what, Mi? Just look at you—so beautiful for me like this. Got ready for me tonight?” Alex went on, his thumb playing with Miles’s swollen lips, before it slipped past them and into his warm mouth.

Miles moaned around him and started sucking. Desperate to please, desperate to be the best.

“There you go. You know what you have to do.” Alex let him suck on his thumb as he began to undress him.

“Al–hmm!” Miles moaned loudly, his hands reaching for Alex when he pulled back lightly to pull off his short. As if he would die if Alex stepped a little further away. He needed Alex. And Alex could feel it.

Chuckling, Alex took his finger out and licked it. Living in the way Miles’s eyes rolled back, as he saw him. Moving his hands over his now bare chest, Alex twisted a pink nipple and groaned when Miles started rutting against his thigh.

“Will you let me feed, love?” Alex whispered as he came down to claim his lips, unable to contain himself from the sight. Miles was ethereal. He felt Miles nod, answering in incoherent babbles, how he would let him do anything he wanted.

“Please Al. Fed on me. Get in me baby. Need you so bad.” Miles begged, trying to kiss back and answer at the same time. Panting against his lips, as his hands scratched against Alex’s back.

Alex smiled, pecking his lips once, twice and thrice, pulling back a fraction to see Miles chase his lips before he gave him another kiss, and moved down to his neck.

His breath grazed the mark that bounded Miles to him almost a hundred years ago. It was dark pink, standing out against his pale skin. The two dots were sensitive and tender. Alex pampered kisses over them so he could stimulate them to get ready to release soothing hormones and relax. It caused Miles to moan loudly, his back arched almost painfully while his legs pulled Alex’s hip closer, making both of them groan at the delicious friction.

“Bloody hell, you’re eager?”

“Misse’ you so so much. Come on, Sir!”

Alex smiled at the name. His baby boy. Always in good behaviour. Always disciplined yet impatient. Never gets enough of him.

“Yes, there you are.” Alex pulled back for a moment, allowing himself to look at his bride.

Miles’s hair was a mess, bangs clinging to his forehead from the sweat, lips swollen as he panted. A blush rose from the tip of his cheeks to his ears.

Coming down to kiss his face, Miles giggled and whimpered, obviously enjoying the love he was getting. Alex pecked his lips one last time and pulled back. The saliva that dripped down Miles’s chin was almost maddening.

“Relax for me, Mi.” Alex whispered and waited until Miles nodded and exhaled, melting to the bed.

Then he leaned down, burying his left hand in Miles's hair to keep him steady. He exhaled softly over the mark before lowering his canines to it. His fingers brushed gently through Miles's hair, a silent reassurance as he allowed his fangs to exsert and pierce the skin.

Miles let out a silent moan as a tremor passed through him. His body tensed instinctively, the strength in his grip faltering, leaving his limbs momentarily unsteady. He fought to remain upright, his fingers loosening against Alex's bicep before finding their hold again.

"Alex..." he whispered, his voice barely audible.

“Hmm.” Alex hummed into his skin.

“A-alex— oh Sir, Yes, please—hmm.” Miles moaned as Alex swallowed the first gulp of blood. He could feel his senses sharpen as his soulmate's blood coursed through him. It was as though their blood was performing a dance within his veins, two lifelines intertwining as one.

Alex felt himself hum softly against Miles' neck, he let a little of his saliva coat the bite, to ease the sting as the bond settled between them. He did everything he could to ensure his beloved wouldn't feel even the slightest hint of pain.

And by the way Miles moaned and panted, Alex would agree he was successful.

Sucking in more blood, Alex was in awe at how sweet Miles tasted, while the metallic taste numbed his hunger, Miles’s hormones seemed to fill him.

Miles’s emotions surged through the bond, so vivid that Alex could scarcely tell where Miles ended and he began. There was submission first, washing over him in gentle waves, followed by a deep, quiet contentment. Then a sense of overwhelming emotion coursed through him, leaving him completely consumed by the intensity of it all.

Alex felt it all.

Every flicker of trust. Every heartbeat that slowed beneath his touch. Miles's heartbeat was the only thing alive between them and Alex was in love with every stutter it produced.

Miles let out a broken whimper when Alex sucked greedily, he lifted his hand to lace his fingers over Alex’s, holding onto the touch as Alex’s hand remained tangled in his curls, and legs squeezing against his hip. Alex could feel him. Hard and wet, ready to be devoured. Ready to be consumed.

Swallowing the final drop of blood he could take, Alex pulled away carefully, willing his fangs to retreat without disturbing the mark. He was careful not to leave a scar, not wanting to cause Miles even the slightest discomfort.

Slowly, he released his hand from Miles’s hair and brushed his fingers gently through it, waiting until the wound had healed before showering him with soft, reassuring kisses.

“You’re tickling me.” Miles laughed after a moment, the tension finally leaving his body. He snuggled into Alex, seeking more comfort, always needy for more.

Alex smiled at the sound, relieved to feel Miles ease back from the intensity of feeding him.

“You did so well for me, baby,” Alex whispered. “You were so brave.”

His gaze softened as he searched Miles’s face. He was an utter mess. A beautiful mess that played with every sense in his own body. “Are you alright? Was it too much? Are you hurting anywhere?”

Miles smiled at him—that same bright, beautiful smile that had pulled Alex into a dream the very first time he saw him. Miles was his light, his hope in this endless life. He had waited centuries for him, and even after having him by his side for what felt like a lifetime, Alex still found himself unable to get enough.

His eyes were wide and innocent, almost bambi like, his features soft and gentle. His rose coloured lips parted slightly, revealing the bunny teeth that were such a beautiful contrast to his sharper ones. They were, Alex thought, the perfect reflection of Miles himself. Something pure, something warm, something that showed the kindness he carried within his heart.

“No,” Miles murmured, his voice soft and hazy. “You always take care of me. I never feel it.”

He looked completely undone. His chest rose and fell lightly and it was as if he still wanted more.

“Besides,” he added with a small, teasing smile, “your emotions were overwhelming me tonight. Someone missed me a bit too much…?”

His quiet giggle filled the space between them, and Alex couldn’t help but smile as he leaned down to press a gentle kiss to his nose and then his lips, still unable to get his fill from Miles. Unable to get enough of his sweet taste and light air.

“Sorry, but I can feel you liked it, hmm? Did you miss me eating you, darling?” Alex teased as he finally moved his hands to touch more of Miles’s body, trailing kisses down his chest as his hands grasped those soft thighs so he could start mouthing against them.

“I would like anything you give me. Anything—hmm.” Miles moaned into his hand, lifting his hips off the bed when Alex sucked his inner thigh lewdly.

“Anything indeed. Let me take care of you tonight. Will make you feel so good baby. And you will be good for me hmm? You will take it like the good boy you are?” Alex asked. Too in love.

“Yes, yes! Oh yes please!” Miles nodded his head, his body was heating up again, sweat dripping everywhere. He was already a vocal mess and Alex felt himself get even harder at his sounds.

Glancing up at him, Alex whistled softly, grabbing Miles’s attention, making him open his eyes and gaze down at him. Alex almost lost his breath.

Both of them did.

“Oh fuck, love, look at you. So fucking gorgeous for me.” Alex murmured, his hands not resisting the urge to touch in between Miles's quivering thighs. He was going to make it up for him well.

“For you—hmm, love everything you do.” Miles sighed. Allowing himself to get consumed by Alex.

Notes:

Hope you enjoyed this mess as much as I did. Tell me what you think!
