Summary
(Inspired by Keferon's Mecha au but me and a friend let it get out of hand.)
Earth has been under siege by invading aliens they've named Leviathans for years now. Long enough that recruitment officers show up in schools and workplaces offering people the opportunity to pilot one of their very large, and Very expensive Mecha for the betterment and protection of Earth as a whole.
What happens when one human looking for a little bit of revenge rides a Leviathan through a portal to an alien world, leaving his found family and Mecha crew behind? Well he sure as hell doesn't know, and neither do they.

Summary
Grace and Rocky have done it. They’ve saved the stars! But as they’re on their way back to Erid, they encounter another problem—one in the form of giant, sentient machine-based alien life forms, who need their help.
“Grace,” Rocky said, voice pitching upward in the telltale way it did when he was nervous.
Eyes still tracing the seemingly never-ending ship, Grace swallowed thickly. “Yeah, buddy?”
A crackle sounded out over the speakers, the alarm system finally fading away before being replaced by a sound Grace had never heard before—a transmission request.
“Aliens want speak with Grace and Rocky.”

“What are you talking about?” Grace's fingers played quick chords as he spoke. He didn’t even look as he did it, but it did not make them any less purposeful.
“Discussing possible reasons why Tau Ceti is not infected while other stars are,” Eva replied deftly. “I would invite you to join, but we were just finishing—”
“Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.
