    The Commission has made Hawks into a thorough hero. He knows how to search for evidence where no one thinks to look. He knows how to stay calm even when a sidekick is felled. He knows how to push down his emotions until they fall to depths he can’t reach. But right now his mind is struggling to process what's happened. Just two hours ago, he was having lunch with his intern. Now his top two sidekicks are injured, one is in critical condition, and Tokoyami Fumikage is missing.

    (AKA Tokoyami disappears on a patrol gone wrong. With the investigation moving at snail's pace, Hawks turns to his villain contact, Dabi, for help. Hawks will do whatever it takes to bring Tokoyami home, even if that means descending into villainy.)

    “Keigo, buddy, bestie, idiot.” Rumi stares at him with palpable incredulity. “You ate mystery food you found in your fridge and just went to sleep afterwards? You’re lucky you woke up!” Obviously he’s fine enough; he’s made it all the way to his lunch break with no issue. Rumi punches his shoulder, angry that he’s not treating this as gravely as she is. “Do you still have all of your organs?” 

     

    He waves her off, utterly despondent. “Rums, you don’t understand how good it was. I’d give up a couple organs right now to eat that well again.”

    Fuyumi and Dabi are stuck in each other’s bodies for the next week, but at least they’re together again. It’ll be almost like a vacation; the sort of vacation where you’re trapped in the same house, clawing at the walls to get away from emotionally charged conversations and the slow decay of your sanity.

    It’ll be fine. All they have to do it keep their identities a secret from the five villains (and one Hero) who really want to know, not accidentally bring the building down around their ears, and bond with the brand-new family Dabi has attached himself to—wait, what? Fuyumi, no.

    Five years ago, fourteen-year-old Touya Todoroki's name was buried here. Today, Dabi has come home to make them all remember. He's gonna make them feel just what it's like to wish for death so the pain can stop. He's gonna destroy the little prodigy that took his place. He's gonna make his father say his goddamn name until he chokes on it.
