In order to bring Gustave back as himself, whole, Maelle had to infuse him with Pure Chroma, something wielded only by Painters.
This Pure Chroma responds to intent, just like it does for Painters.
As life begins again - Gustave does not hesitate to support all of his friends and family - but now that support comes with a cost that he might no longer afford to be able to pay.
(Alternative Title: 5 Times Gustave Used His Pure Chroma to Help Others, and the One Time Someone Used It to Help Him)
