Summary
Soap gets stuck in a time loop during the Alone Mission and dies a whole bunch trying to get it right. He doesn't quite know how to handle it, especially when Ghost starts dying first and Soap begins restarting the loops without question- anything to have a chance of them both making it out intact at the end.

He gapes from beside you. “First of all, they are very beautiful to me.” Hawks has to pat your back as you cough.
“Covid.” He jokes. “I think we should end the date here.”
“Shut up.” You wheeze, taking a sip, and Hawks continues.
“Second of all, have you seen those talons of theirs? They could fuck you up. Ducks just have webbed feet.”
“Ducks bite, though.”
He looks at you. “What.”
“Ducks? Yeah dude, they bite. Most of them have like, this sharp ridge on the front of their bill to hold on to fish and other little prey that they latch on to. It can break the skin pretty easy, fuckers are sharp. They bite, and they bite hard.”
“Assholes.” Hawks amends, biting in to a chicken nugget and eyeing the ducks with a side eyed glance.
“Assholes.” You agree.
