Summary
"Scar?" Grian repeated, more shifting, like he was sitting up. Tired but gentle confusion in his voice. "Are you okay?"
Scar should've hung up. It was bad enough he'd actually called. He should've lied, should've said it was a misdial and pretended to be okay. He should've done a hundred things and he did the one thing he shouldn't, because despite everything that happened between them, Scar felt safest with the one who hurt him. He said, a trembling whisper, "No."

“Alright, alright, hang on.” Techno took a big bag of raw steak out of his inventory, chuckling when all of the nearby dogs perked up and hurried over at the sight and smell of food. “Let me just -”
Something was wrong.
Techno froze, trying to determine what was - he felt sort of sick, all of a sudden, what -
And then he was on the ground.

“You know,” Grian said, “on my first server, some people used the moon to say, I love you. You’d find your person and tell them, The moon looks beautiful tonight. It’s an indirect way of telling them you love them, without actually saying it. Bit of a cliché, if you ask me.”
—
Grian’s hands loosened around his. Mumbo grabbed back onto them, feeling suddenly much too warm in the snow. “Hey.” He cleared his throat, and Grian tilted his head at him curiously. “The moon. It’s, uh… the moon. It’s...”
Too close. The moon was much too close.
“Grian,” he whispered, “is the moon big?”
—OR: Mumbo Jumbo grapples with two equally impossible problems: the oncoming end of the world, and how to tell Grian he's in love with him.

“They’re not paying me anything.”
Punz almost never did anything without the promise of monetary rewards.
“Money is irrelevant right now. I’m not being rewarded or penalized regardless of what happens.” Punz’s voice was collected, and cold in the emotionless drawl Dream had long gotten used to. The mercenary wasn’t someone to wear his heart on his sleeves, and even at the height of their partnership, Dream had rarely known what the other was thinking.
The crease of his brow was wrinkled slightly, but there was almost nothing readable. An impenetrable wall that Dream himself could not crack. That he couldn’t read. Dream had never been able to hold the same emotionless resolve, he’d needed a physical mask for that.
Maybe Punz had always been colder than him.
Maybe the mercenary had achieved what Dream had long since failed to. No attachments, no cares. Nothing.
Or, the au where Punz genuinely betrayed Dream in the attachment room and they're both left to pick up the pieces of Pandora's Vault.

What a well-written story.
It had me rooting for them in their own morally grey ways.

Nearly a millennia later, the Warden of Pandora's Vault Prison has to venture into the cell of The First to do a repair job on some wiring. “How about a bet?”
Keith paused.
“If I can make you fall in love with the holidays by Christmas night, you’ll take the shift.”
Keith snorted, turning to face Lance. He kept that vaguely annoyed smile on his face, but nothing could hide the gleam of interest in his eyes.
“You’re not going to make that happen.”
“Okay,” Lance shrugged. “Then what’s the harm of taking the bet?”
Keith’s eyes rose to the ceiling, thinking.
“And,” Lance rushed in, “and I’ll sweeten the deal. I’ll work New Years as well.”
Now that got Keith’s attention.
They had drawn straws for who would work New Years Day weeks ago. It was one of the worst shifts for a toy store. Being deathly hungover while listening to kids scream and toys screech was the stuff of nightmares. Keith had lost and was stuck with the shift.
A slow grin tugged at Keith’s lips. “You’re insane.”***
When Lance gets stuck with the Christmas shift, he immediately turns to Keith, a self-proclaimed Scrooge, to cover the shift. When Keith refuses, Lance offers up a bet. If he can make Keith fall in love with the holidays before Christmas, Keith will take the shift. Nonsense straight from a Hallmark movie follows.

I read this while it was updating and I actually looked forward to sitting down to read it.I was so sad when it was finished but it definitely doesn't deserve the 'Hallmark movie' description. It was better than those Hallmark movies.

Summary
Hiro was so much like her. He was stubborn, he was intelligent, he was bright. A spitting replica, if not just for personality. So could he really be blamed for what he had chosen to do? He had motives; of couse...people always do. But his motives were good ones, surely? For him, at least. For others it was not suffice to say. For others, this whole thing would be a living nightmare. One they could not possibly wake up from. And for a young boy, with his whole life in front of him, it might even be an ordeal that he would not survive.

Summary
Philza struggled to keep standing straight, dizzy from blood loss, a white-knuckle grip on his sword.
“I have heard much of you, emperor Philza, and I have respect for you. Therefore, I’ll offer you a deal. You will surrender. You will kneel before me, right here, right now, and beg for mercy. Then I’ll take you to the Nether with me, and you’ll become my prisoner, slave, and personal servant. Or-”
The Blood God raised his netherite blade, pointing the tip straight at Philza’s heart.
“-I will allow you to die with a sword in your hand, and once you’re dead, I will slaughter your children.”
Philza fell to his knees without hesitation.
~~~
Philza had been prepared for a lot of things when he was taken as a war prize: the loss of his basic freedom, the heartbreak of being separated from his sons, the indignity of being reduced into the piglin king’s “pet”.
What he hadn’t been expecting was for the man behind the blood-stained mask to be soft-spoken, or good-natured, or tired from the weight of his crown.
Or lonely.
Weapons must be perfect.
A hidden fault or an unnoticed imbalance in the blade of a sword can be the difference between life and death on the battlefield. A blacksmith is careful with such things, watchful and alert during the forging of a weapon. There can be no imperfections. Certainly not if the weapon is a gift for the Lady of Death and her angel.
Technoblade's trainers know this, and they shape him to be perfect.
~
OR, child Techno is trained to be a living weapon and is given to Phil and Kristin, who don't realize that he is very much sentient. This causes problems.
Summary
Maybe, once, Dream might've believed he was a hero. No, no he did think himself a hero but that was what he was trained to think. He was always trained to think. And the moment he began to doubt that, it was already far to late to fix the damage he'd cause. By then, he'd already...
Then again, isn't life about second chances? Even if those come from death.
#1 Hero Dream fucking dies but due to magic shenanigans is slingshotted through the void into some other poor fucks body and now has to grapple with this new, crack taken seriously, world. He's from a gritty realism... it's gonna go about as well as you'd expect.
Summary
Dream’s been on the run for 2 years when he finally finds directions to a small revolution where he might be free. Unfortunately for him, the past refuses to let him go. His friends, under the orders of the King, are tasked with bringing him back to “safety.” All George and Sapnap want to do is save their friend, all Bad wants to do is escape his contract, and all Dream wants to do is escape.
In a way, it’s a Minecraft!Manhunt, except it’s a fantasy au and early DreamSMP mashed together, with a Dream that’s not quite human, but not quite anything else.
Please read the tags, this gets pretty heavy at times. Enjoy!
UPDATE: Work is abandoned, with a summary of the entire story in the last chapter, soon to be orphaned.
Summary
“Dream is tired. He’s tired of the tension between his friends, tired of preparing for battles, and tired of waking up in the morning with hours missing from his memory, no recollection of what he did the day before. Most of all, though, he is tired of the ever-present, watchful eye of something dark that whispers to him, chills his blood, and will not leave him alone.
Apparently, the war starts without him.
He wakes up, and there’s clearly been fighting. A cold fog grips his mind and refuses to offer any memory of the battle he apparently played a leading role in. Dream doesn’t know what’s happening to him.”
——
A malicious entity sinks its claws into the server and its admin completely unnoticed, until it’s too late for Dream to do anything but watch.
His friends barely recognize the person they used to call a friend, and it takes them a while to notice things are very wrong.
