    Why is it so sad?! (I know why that's why I'm reading it; yay crying 🙃) I tried escaping the sadness and the first thing I saw on TikTok was an edit based on this fic and started crying....... I can't escape 😫. The last chapter has me absolutely sobbing alone in the dark, I love this but whyyy does it hurt so much, question.

    These streets are… he falters. He does not know these streets, not at all.

    Venti scrambles to find the nearest reflective object. He finds one on a giant metal-like wagon painted bright red, the glass dark but clear enough to see his reflection. With the rough texture of concrete under his feet, he realizes he doesn't even have shoes on. What greets him as his reflection throws that realization at the bottom of his priorities.

    He is a child.

    "Fuck," Venti breathes, voice high in disbelief.

    His soulmate is looking for him. Would be great, if there wasn’t a big pay check attached to it.

    “Tom Ryder, Hollywood’s favourite playboy, seeking soulmate to settle down.”

    But Colt had told him “oh yeah, Gail is basically forcing him to do this for the publicity. She thought a grand love story behind the scenes would create hype for the movie.”
    And the soulmate would receive quite the hefty check for staying silent and being professional arm candy.

    Because, apparently everyone fussed over that Gosling guy and his soulmate wife. The fans need a new “perfect” couple to become scarily parasocial with.

    Grace is not about to be a freaking pay check.
