He should be furious. He is furious. He's also starving, sleep-deprived, and apparently unable to stop noticing that Barty Crouch Jr. has been keeping very careful track of what Sirius Black wears.
Two men on opposite ends of a war. One wall between them. No trial, no justice, no cavalry coming — just the crash of the ocean, the creeping cold, and a Death Eater who is, infuriatingly, almost always right.
The darkness didn't start in Azkaban. For Sirius, it was always there — running through his veins like water through stone, patient and inevitable. He'd spent his whole life running from what he was born to be.
