Summary
Hiccup's desperately trying to figure out what exactly is the deal with Burgess ever since he moved in. He keeps dreaming of a lake. Or more specifically, drowning in one. He knows there's a lake, but there are no photos, no maps to where this lake is. Hiccup knows it exists, because the other residences know about it too, but whenever he asks for details they seem to know nothing, baring a few exceptions, and Hiccup can't help but feel like he's going insane.
All of this, somehow, leads to him giving Jack Frost a four hour car ride. Jack, who's the center of all of this in one way or another.

Aster had debated sleeping on the couch---and he had tried, at first.
But then his other roommate brought home a drunk friend, and Aster sighed, getting up at four in the morning to move to his own bed.
He slipped into the sheets as carefully as he could, keeping as much distance from the white-haired stranger as possible---not the easiest given his bed was a twin. Within moments, he was on his side, eyes closed and head tucked into his arm.
But then a warm weight slipped against him, and his eyes flew open.
There was a mop of white hair resting against his chest, and a small, lithe arm settling against his side, pulling him closer.

“Bunny, you know dealing with imps takes priority,” North argued, and with good reason; the little demons were wreaking more havoc than usual in an English city, beginning to revert back to their more malicious tendencies rather than the typical pranks they pulled nowadays. If they did not deal with them now and remind them who still had power over them, they would only grow more and more confident and larger in numbers until even the Man in the Moon would have trouble containing them. The Guardians all knew this, of course, but that didn’t stop their worry for their missing fairy.
“I don’t see why we all need to go. Surely they’d listen to one of their own kind,” Bunny said, gesturing to Jack.-----

Jack sighed. "How did you even see me get injured? You weren't anywhere near me!"
Bunny chuckled, and Jack shuddered as he felt the heat of it against his skin. "Aw, were ye keepin' tabs on me, Frostbite?"
"Never mind", Jack bit out. "Fine, whatever, I'll take a break. You should go help her."
Bunny sighed, and carefully tugged Jack down until they were sitting. Jack was cradled between his legs, his back pressed against the Pooka's chest.
Firm arms wound around his waist, and Bunny rested his chin on his head. "Like I said, she's nearly done. And someone needs to make sure ye don't go flying off."
Jack scoffed, but there was no real heat behind it. It was a fair enough estimate, and honestly, it was getting harder to think with the heat radiating from Bunny. Jack could feel it through his clothes, a sweet, syrupy warmth that made him want to close his eyes and doze against that furry chest.

So, in essence - it has been three days in Denmark, he lost a bag on the way here, his spare glasses were broken by an unforgiving bout of turbulence, and the smug face of a respected colleague made him lash out and end his own career.
Ergo, in conclusion, he has argued - there’s nothing to do but get drunk in this sticky woody bar.
The clink of a glass being set down in front of him, and the bartender says, “From the lady at the corner booth.” He twists on his stool, almost falls, and swivels his eyes to the booths.
A woman on her own who raises her glass to him in the warm light.
Christ. It could be the beer talking, but she’s gorgeous.

Right up until Rocky asks another question.
“When last time you touch other human person skin, question?”
Oh. Oh no. “When I… a few days after I first woke up here.”
Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.
“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”
I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.
“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”
I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.
“Grace. When last time, question.”
I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.
“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”
I can taste grass.

The question puts me on my back foot. Literally. I jog up to the door after my morning run to find Rocky waiting for me on my side of the house, suited up and ticked off. I rock back on my heel.
“Huh?”
“What you mean ‘huh’, is simple question! Why no mention plants on Hail Mary when almost die of no vitamins?!”
“No bud, I heard you the first time,” I scoff, shaking my head ruefully. He gets under my feet, tapping at my thighs with his claws to annoy me while I toe off my running shoes.
“Hey, quit— quit it! You’ve gotta be confused, the only plant matter on the Hail Mary was the food in my meals, and that’s years gone.”

“You can't be serious?” Carl asks.
“I don't do jokes. And someone has to keep an eye on him.”
He groans and runs a hand over his face.
“But why me?” It won't only be him, he knows. He'll have his team with him, a few trusted agents who he has worked with for years (and who are currently sneakily accepting chocolate covered peanuts from the teacher.)
But this still feels like a personal blow somehow. Did he do something wrong? Is this what he has been reduced to? A glorified babysitter for a scatterbrained teacher?
There is that half smirk on her face, the one that either enamors you or makes you shit your pants, depending on whether or not you are on her good side.
“You told him your name.” Her answer throws him and she can tell. He opens his mouth but she carries on. “Your real name.”

Carl is less than thrilled when he gets reassigned to babysit a teacher playing around with three dots in a glorified warehouse.
But at least this job should be rather uneventful.Boring even.
