Summary
Seemingly out of nowhere and with no warning, Pyro returns to Tegrith, set on picking his life right back up where he left it eight years ago. Scott has no idea what to think about the man who used to be his best friend, who abandoned them all once, but is now promising that he's here to stay.
Especially with how he's saying that he's back for Scott specifically.
Both of them have changed in their time apart, but Scott swears that there's something different about Pyro. Has he just matured? Did he go though something awful while away from home? Or is it something more?
On top of Scott's whirlwind of conflicted emotions, Tegrith is threatened by a strange corrupting force like no one has ever seen before. Except maybe Pyro...

Owen heard it at the same moment Louis did, a growl pouring from him that was so cold and furious that it sent a shiver down Louis' spine, his body becoming tense as a cat about to leap.
"Transform," Louis commanded, and Owen turned his eyes from the treeline to him, looking shocked. His mouth was still pulled into a snarl, brows drawn together indignantly.
"What? No—"
Louis tightened his grip on Owen's hair, and put a thrum in his voice that he did not want to use. "Transform, now."

Summary
“Well, that's a shame,” said an all too familiar, nasal voice behind him, making him snap his head back to the present. He didn’t hear Scott approach, he never did, not even with his heightened senses, and the smell of Drift’s blood seemed to have masked the subtle perfume that always accompanied his arrival.
“What. What do you want,” Avid said shakily as he looked his way, watching the vampire make slow but confident steps towards him.
Scott’s perfect lips pulled into a small, knowing smile as he looked more closely at the scene before him.
“Well, I came over to get our penultimate target down, but it looks like you took care of that for me. You really are the sweetest,” he mused, and Avid felt like he was on the verge of throwing up.
OR
The vampires kill practically everyone in Oakhurst, saving Avid for last. Also Avid is a werewolf because I said so and everything is awful forever, you have been warned.

Summary
I’m sure you've heard the story— one of betrayal, love, and death. One of vampires and humans. Bloodlust and infection. One that changed the lives of those in it.
That story isn't over. It never was.
When Owen and Pyro held that young fledgling down and drove a stake through his once fair heart, they did not take into account that of the lingering darkness in the boy's body. For he wasn't entirely a vampire, moreso a beast. An unawakened one, maybe, but still something darker than those he thought he was kin with. One that slowly corrupted his heart during his long sleep.
Hundreds of years after the events at Oakhurst, that once innocent boy awakened. Dug through the dry earth of his grave, buried by his love— or what would've been his love if he hadn’t been ‘killed’ before they could realize their affections.
And as that fair boy looked to the land beneath the mountain, he saw that a small town had been made of Oakhurst.
And he was going to need some f̶o̶l̶l̶o̶w̶e̶r̶s̶ allies to enact his revenge, unknowing that Owen and Pyro have long since been dead.
Or
Avid gets a little corrupted and turns a few people and unintentionally starts a sorta cult.

“I’m.. glad. Glad that you’re gone.”
He said that, and Avid laughed. An actual laugh. Not the small giggle that he did before beginning to speak, not the chuckle that was clearly uttered to fill in silences, but a derisive, scornful laugh, that just whispered to Owen that Avid knew it was not the full truth. Not a lie, but not the truth.
“You appreciate the silence, yes,” Avid drawled, then his form flickered once more to transition quickly to him in a sitting position in front of him. “But I assume you don’t feel the same towards the stares you get from everyone around you. Either those of pity that you do not deserve, or those of anger that burn into you as you pass by.” Owen held no appreciation for the accuracy of those words his corpse dragged forward.

Owen's feeling things after murdering Avid. He doesn't assume it's guilt at first, though it does make it clear what it is once that petal escapes his mouth through a cough. Meanwhile, he is seeing things (or people) that are not there to begin with.

"Owen," protested the girl, and her face came into view. "You're scaring him!"
She looked young. Not much younger than Avid himself though— her hair was a deep russet red, her skin pale and dusted with freckles along the nose. She looked like any other girl in any other village, with an expensive looking skirt and a contrastingly simple woolen jumper. Her hair was plaited into ribbons, gathered in two elaborate bunches to either temple. It made her look younger than she was, combined with the careless way she knelt in the dirt, and the smoke, and the widening puddle of blood that Avid couldn't see the source of.
But when she saw Avid cowering in his stinking bloody box, she smiled, and Avid saw two very sharp teeth.

Let’s get you settled.” Scott nodded to something, someone behind Doctor Legundo, who looked behind himself to find Owen appear from what could’ve been the chilling air that filled the castle, grabbing Doctor Legundo by the neck and slamming his head against the table with a loud, vicious, CRACK.
Or Scott Goldsmith noticed his fledglings had some questions about the cure so he brings the Doctor to the castle to answer them. But old stories unearth themselves and something some of the townsfolk have feared since childhood has been stuck in Oakhurst with them this whole time.
