The Genesis: Secret Files detail the concealed phase of the EVER Institute’s E-Series Program, an unauthorized continuation of Dr. Aldrich Cromwell’s research into Aether-based evolution.
At its core lies E-14 “Aevos” — a hybrid human clone created from the combined DNA of Aldrich Cromwell and the primordial being known as Eos, a proto-organic entity of Wanderer origin discovered in the Northern Dead-Zone.
Dr. Cromwell’s objective: stabilize the Aether Core, an anomalous organ containing divine-grade bioenergy.
His results: catastrophic.

Summary
Isagi Yoichi was invited to a once-in-a-lifetime soccer program called Blue Lock. He wouldn't miss this chance for the world. Jinshi’s free hand circles around the base of her throat, and he squeezes lightly. She inhales sharply, but holds herself still, willing her body not to react.
Moves and countermoves.
“The safest choice. Like hell,” his voice drops to a whisper, lips a hair’s breadth away from hers, his long hair tickling the sides of Maomao’s face.
Checkmate, his eyes say.
“I’ve always told you that if you were going to kill me, you should do it with poison,” Maomao hisses, overcome by a sudden flash of anger.
They both know there’s another layer of emotion under the anger, which neither of them could bring themselves to name.
“We both know she’s not my choice, Lady Kan,” Jinshi growls.

What if Maomao never got abducted and sent to the rear palace? What if she stuck with accepting her fate in the Verdigris House as a courtesan, while still living her dream of studying medicine?
In Maomao's childhood, she grew up with her adoptive father, Luomen, and her "sisters" in the Verdigris House. Naturally, she got influenced by Luomen and got invested in poison and medicine. She'd test poisons on herself, and hunt for herbs in her free time. Though the Madam of the Verdigris would nag her about becoming a courtesan, she would ignore the comments. But at one point, she realized that it was the best decision she could make to earn money to purchase ingredients and help Luomen with rent. As Maomao guided her way through the Red Light District, she got accidentally whirled into the palace's mysteries by a sweet girl, who would be one of her best friends in the future, Xiaolan.
