The child wore tiny black socks with bats stitched onto them and soft gray pajamas because he refused to change after his nap. One chubby hand clutched Bruce’s shirt while the other kept pointing accusingly toward the weather outside.

Summary
Bruce Wayne never expected to walk into a church again - let alone with his four-year-old son in his arms. But when a meeting with Clark Kent, a priest. It turns into more than polite conversation, Bruce finds himself disarmed by a man who shouldn’t have surprised him at all. Clark is broad-shouldered, and impossibly kind; a believer in things Bruce turned his back on the day of his parents’ funeral.
Bruce is skeptical, Clark is steadfast. Their ideologies clash from the moment they sit across from one another: billionaire pragmatism versus the faith of a priest. But somewhere between coloring books at Clark’s desk and quiet invitations to community fairs, a dangerous warmth grows. Bruce doesn’t know how to name it, and Clark doesn’t dare.
Because whatever is happening between them - it shouldn’t. Bruce pushes, searching for the language he can’t bring himself to say aloud, while Clark whispers what he shouldn’t confess at all: I can’t. A vow binds him to the Church, but his heart betrays him in every secret meeting, every glance held too long.
It shouldn’t work. It can’t work. But it does. And as much Clark Kent prays, temptation seeps through.

“Why Plastic Man?” Hal asked.
“He’s on monitor duty right now,” the Bat didn’t even sound out of breath. He was typing something out on some sort of communicator device he had pulled from his belt. It looked like a phone, but a bit bulkier. He put a hand to his comm and switched it on, so the three heroes with him heard both his actual voice and the echo of it in their ears. Though Batman was clearly trying to reach Clark, Diana, and Barry, it threw Hal off balance for a second.
“The intruder is not dangerous. Do not engage.”
Hal was just disoriented enough that he kept running, spurred on by the fact that, despite his message, Batman was still sprinting down the halls. The three of them reached the medbay, and Batman came to an abrupt halt, the other three skidding to a stop beside him. Standing there, covered in blood, was Nightwing.

The Bats gather on the Watchtower. Tensions are high. The JL just wants to know what the hell is going on.
