Aaron hasn't been sleeping much lately, since he's been the only one committed to taking the night shift guarding Call, even though the three of them agreed to take turns, Jasper and Tamara don't do their fair share of nights. Aaron doesn't mind, really, he can watch Call better anyway, but the lack of sleep is starting to affect his days in a severe way. Call proposes a solution, one that makes Aaron's heart beat a little too quickly in his chest.

Day 7 - X-blade/Crossover or fusion
This time, the reaction he gets is a strangled little noise that sounds similar to the shriek of a Rattata and Sora bites his tongue to hold his laughter. Perhaps he is enjoying this too much, but who could blame him? This: Riku being dependent on him, vulnerable and blatantly in need of help, has never happened before. Riku has always been the strong one, the reliable one, the older and wiser and the leader, even when he got a little crazy at fifteen. Of course, he had gotten hurt on occasions, he had the scars to show it; but Sora wasn’t there to heal his pain. Now he is, and he promised to himself that he would make the most of it. His mission for the foreseeable future is to spoil Riku rotten, to coddle him so thoroughly it would erase a whole life of dealing with everything on his own.

Suddenly, Sora knows. “Riku!” He’s scrambling towards the figure before they can run. He knows, can feel it in his heart, in the burst of light-warmth-strength that burns in his chest. “You’re here!”
A too-brief reunion in the Land of Dragons answers a question plaguing Sora's entire journey.

It was so wrong, that Riku looked forward to this every night. It was so sick, that as soon as he felt the rush of pain from the symbol on his back that hurled him from sleep, Riku couldn’t help but grin — even though he knew Sora must feel that same pain or worse. He knew that he should stop coming to calm Anti-Sora and let morning send the darkness away. But Riku couldn’t — wouldn’t — stop. Sora needed him. Riku would always protect him from the darkness, no matter how torturous it was to accomplish.
