"Woah," I gasped softly in wonderment as I looked down at my now paws.
"Yeah, This form takes a little time to get used to."Sora's voice said with a chuckle from the driver's seat of the gummi ship.
I looked up in surprise forgetting for a moment that I was with Sora.
Sora was poking his head around the corner of the huge backrest of the driver's seat.
He was now a dark brown lion with a light chocolate brown spiky mane that looked to be in its teens, the main went down his back some and around his head some but didn't connect and go all the way around.
His bright blue eyes shone brightly as his muzzle was pulled up into a smile to show some of his sharp canines.
He hopped down from the seat and walked with a bounce to his step as he got closer to me.
"Wow, a speechless Riku, I never thought I'd see the day." Sora teased.
Snapping out of my trance I shook my head rolling my eyes fondly. "Out of the two of us, you're the chatterbox."
"Yeah, but you would have had your wise guy cracks by now." He said.
"Yeah whatever," I said.
I looked down from the chair and hopped down and my legs went weak and gave out from under me.
I fell landing on my face making my eyes water as I smacked my noes onto the cold hard floor of the ship.
" It takes a moment for the magic to settle so for the first half hour or so your limbs are gonna just randomly be weak and wobbly."
"That would have been helpful to know," I grunted as I slid the rest of the way off the chair. "Why couldn't you have added that to the first explanation?" I asked as I looked up at him with one eye.
He burst into laughter making me smile. It's worth falling over and making a fool of myself sometimes if it makes him smile or laugh like that.
I grunt shifting so that I could stand up and test my limbs this time to make sure I was steady.
Sora maneuvered to be walking beside me so that I could use him for some support.
I was grateful for the new form at the moment that I was covered in fur because if not I would be blushing like crazy.
We walked to the door and Sora trotted to the door standing on his hind legs to push the button to open the hatch.
He returned to my side as the door opened upward with a soft hiss.
I gasped softly as far as the eye could see there were rolling hills with long lush grass blowing in the wind, giving it the appearance of water flowing.
In the middle of this huge grassy plain was a huge rock that even with the distance making it look so small had a huge presence to it.
I sat down looking at the wildflowers that popped out from the grass throughout scattered in grass. A few small trees stood here and there with lush green leaves on top of the trees that made them look like umbrellas.
"Bubba close the door and go into stealth mode."
The ship beeped with green lights flashed once and twice and went up to hover into the air and looked exactly like the blue sky it was hovering under.
"Why did you name it Bubba?" I asked shifting so that some hair fell into my eyes as I had my head tilted.
"Oh yeah when we went to one world they had this candy called gum and one of the brands of gum was called Hubba Bubba."
"Oh well, that's creative." My eyes landed on the grate big rock once more, "What's that?"
"Oh, that's where the pride lives. I'll introduce them to you later first I wanna take you sightseeing."
I internally sighed in relief I was so worn out that the thought of meeting Sora's friends he made during his travels did not sound appealing to me at the moment.
If I was going to be forced into a day off. I'd rather just have my day off spending it with Sora.
A soft smile pulled my lips up some as I thought about how Sora had gotten me here.
out of the blue, he burst through the door where King Mickey and I were planning and training for our travels into the dark world.
"I can't take it anymore!" He exclaimed marching over to the table Mickey was sitting at that was pushed to one side of the room closest to the doors so that the rest of the room could be used for training.
Sora scanned the room and his eyes landed on me.
I was sitting with my arms resting on my knees, panting slightly sweating some from my daily workouts.
I was sitting on the steps closest to the king that lead up to the training platform.
"What's wrong?" I asked a bit worried as I took a long sip from my water bottle.
I was about to stand up when Sora pointed to me. "You and I are going to be taking a break today!"
Mickey gave a soft fond chuckle putting his elbow on the table and putting his cheek in his hand as he watched with a fond knowing smile.
It was as if he was comparing Sora with his encounters with Donnaled and goofy.
Then with a bit of dread and embarrassment, I realized he was smart and knew me well enough to possibly know my feelings about Sora.
So that found smile was him thinking about his own love and relationship with Minie.
Sora was complaining about yin sid in the background as Mickey looked at me giving me a different fond smile as if happy for me.
My eyes went wide now knowing that he knew and my face flushed. I hid my face by taking the towel that was around my neck and using it to wipe my brow.
Like I even have a shot at being with Sora I thought a bit glumly.
"Yin Sid wouldn't approve of that," I said trying to ignore my feelings and misdirect my own feelings and Mickey's thoughts on my love life.
Sora stopped talking abruptly and put on a pouty face crossing his arms
"I mean we need to save Aqua."
Sora's face fell a little as he looked down at the floor making me feel like shit.
Mickey looked gloomy too at the comment putting his knuckles to his temple his brows furrowing in worry.
Great all I'm good for is making everyone important to me feel like crap.
"As much as I want to save Aqua right now. It's not possible at the moment." Mickey said with a sad worn out sigh.
We all stayed silent as if in respect for the dead.
"She isn't dead," I said in defiance.
Mickey gave a small smile with a nod. "She is strong and resourceful." He agreed.
Soras arms fell to his sides as he pulled out a chair from the table and sat down seeming to give up on having a free day.
"I'm with Sora on this one," Mickey said after a little while surprising me. "There is nothing we can do right now for Aqua.."
He paused for a moment to compose himself before continuing,
"If we don't take some time for ourselves sometimes what are we even fighting for then?"
Dang Mickey and his totally logical sense.
I was about to bring up Yin Sid again but as I opened my mouth to voice it Mickey gave a knowing grin that he shot at me. "What free day?" The King said with a mischievous grin.
"Just like how no one had almost flooded the castle with a cleaning spell."
"Almost?" I said in disbelief, "You said it looked like the ocean."
"Well, that's beside the point. Yin Sid needs to lighten up."
Sora was watching us his gaze going from person to person as they talked and he started to smile.
I looked at Sora with a small sigh.
It's not that I don't want to be in Soras company.
It's more just that I think it would be easier for me to keep some distance from him for myself so it won't hurt so much when he falls in love and leaves me behind when he's happy with Kair.
As I look at Sora's bright blue eyes and I realize something.
It won't be easy but I'd rather end up heartbroken than not spend any time with him.
"So I'm guessing you have a place in mind Sora?" I asked.
Sora's face broke out into a wide grin.
Something big and heavy quite literally knocked me out of my thoughts.
Sora had pounced on me knocking me over causing us to roll down the hill with him following along as he shifted so that we were rolling down side by side.
Sora would role to land on his paws and run for a bit before he'd shift so that he could curl up once again and be rolling again.
Sora laughed with a child-like play of glee.
With the surprise over my laughter joined in with his.
Once we were at the bottom of the hill panting from our laughing I asked. "What was that for?"
"You were in your head again." Was his reply sounding a bit sad? as he sat up.
What am I just an open book now?
I rolled over and got into a pouncing position and leaped to get back at sora but halfway through the action, my legs went weak once more.
I knocked Sora over but the end result was knocking him over to then just be laying over him like dead weight.
How embarrassing I thought my face going hot as I tried to roll off him.
Sora brought up his paws though and raped them around me keeping me in place with an evil gleeful laugh.
" I got you now prisoner." He said taking holding onto me with one paw while the other went and curled up and rubbed my head like a lion noogie.
I got tired of fighting in his grip and he got tired of fighting to keep me in his grip so we ended up just laying there with me on top of him as we got our breath.
"Man that spell thing is no joke," I said in shock our bodies getting used to the spell felt like I'm out of shape but I know that was far from the truth with how much we train every day.
"Yeah let's just wait here for a minute. I'm sure it won't take too long now." He said with a soft chuckle
"Oh okay," I said softly.
When he means wait does he mean wait right here in this position?
Yup, that's exactly what he planned to do because he didn't let go in fact he took the paw he put on my head and put it around me once more holding me in place.
Why did I have to fall for someone who showed affection so easily?
It makes me feel false hope sometimes.
I shifted a little so that I could look at a cloud he said looked like a duck.
"That one looks like Dale I said giggling." I put my paw to the side of my mouth as I whispered. "Don't tell Chip but I like Dale a little more than him. He's funny."
"Wow, That's funny because I like Chip a little more than Dale," Sora said with a chuckle.
"Wow really?" I asked shifting to try and look Sora in the face.
I rolled over to be face-to-face with Sora.
"Yeah," Sora confirmed.
"Poor things they spend so much time together that they always get compared to each other," I said and to my surprise, Soras voice chimed in with mine as we said the same thing word for word causing us to both burst out laughing.
As our laughter died down I realized now that this position was, even more, embarrassing than the first position we were in.
I tested my limbs and found no weakness so I slipped from his grip and walked around to make sure, even doing some bouncy steps.
I turned to Sora with a playful grin I jumped to be standing next to Sora and lightly jabbed his chest with my paw and cried, " Tag your it!"
I ran away laughing as Sora said "Hey you cheat.!"
We had played tag and wrestled and even played a game of keep away with a stick as Sora randomly grabbed a stick into his mouth and I tried to wrestle it out of his grip.
We made our way to what Sora insisted was the most beautiful place here.
Dang, he was right.
In between a lush beautiful jungle were waterfalls falling into a crystal clear lake.
We kept going and made it to a cliff edge that stood far above the lake and waterfalls and had a beautiful view of the sky.
Sora hopped into a cluster of vines that were hanging like it was a hammock.
I copied him and sighed in total relaxation at how surprisingly comfy it was.
We watched as the sky turned a beautiful orange and purple and turned into a sky filled to the brim with stars.
Sora hopped from his hammock after a while to be sitting by where my makeshift hammock was. He sat beside me in silence for a while as if in deep thought, causing me to worry.
"Something wrong?"
"Can I confess something to you?" Sora asked in almost a whisper.
"Yeah sure, anything," I said confidently.
"I'm used to this form and just wanted to hold on to you for a bit when we first got here."
My brows furrowed in confusion while slowly my eyes went wide as my gaze snapped to look at Sora.
Sora shifted so that our foreheads touched, he closed his eyes as a deep purring came from his chest as he said "I love you Riku."
